I call bullsh** on this one. No way do we get #4 & #7 for the #2 only.
If this does happen, though, it will go down as the Saints best draft moves ever & I will be cutting flips in my living room!!! Hawk at #4 & Brick, Ngata, or Huff at #7? This is what dreams are made of. |

I don't like the idea of drafting Williams when we already have to very good DE's. Second, I think we need Hawk before we need D'Brick. Problem is, I don't think it would be a good idea to draft Hawk at #2. The Saints need to trade down and pick Hawk.
D'Brick and Williams are great players, but the Saints NEED a LB. In reality, if the Saints draft D'Brick, Williams or Leinart...I'm not going to sit around and kick my teddy bear...but I really think they need to trade down and grab Hawk. |

this is one of the scenerios off the jets board by a poster that breaks it down more.......
bongo has also stated that the bush deal is or will be done shortly with the texans..... One interpretation has it this way: Oakland gets whom they want at #2 (most have been saying ML, but it could be MW or even VY IMO). For moving back to #7 for Number Two, Porter, the #38th and 69th picks (not sure about future, this would give Porter a late second round grade according to Value Chart posted on Daft area). New Orleans would then trade upto the #4 spot with the NY Jets...giving them Porter and the #7 pick (previously Oaklands). This would match the trade value of Porter. I would rather have some picks, but not sure how, only the #69 and NO's 5th and 6th would match value, and I don't think NO would want to trade that #69 pick as they don't have their high 3rd rounder - Houston as the top two picks in the third round!!! The orginal version was something like this: Jets trade up to the #2 spot, including #117 overall (maybe #103 instead) - this is where the value is way out of whack - but this was part of the discussion when ML's new Agent was trying to orchestrate this trade...via rumor, inside hearings... Shortly after trading the #4 and #117 to move up to #2, the Jets trade with Oakland's #7 spot - the details might look like this: Oakland gets the #2 from the Jets (previously NO). The Jets get #7, #38 and #69 as well as Porter. - this again is close in Value Chart. Now, the attempt here was for the draft to go like this: Hou - Bush Oak - Leinart Ten - Young NOS - Williams GBP - Hawk SFF - Davis NYJ - D'Brick Then, the Jets would trade D'Brick (and Porter?) to NO for M. Williams. This way, NO pays less for D'Brick - a real need player, plus they get Porter (someone else they can use). The Jets get M. Williams, add a high second round pick (two before our current one), and a high 3rd round pick (again two before our current one). To me, everyone wins...Oakland gets Lienart (but I think they really want someone else - Young, Williams, ...) on day one. New Orleans gets the guy they probably will end of drafting if they stay at #2, for #7 salary, plus Porter and a mid 4th round pick (#117). The Jets get the guy they will like at #4, plus add two first day picks at the top part of each of the second and third rounds - but they give up the "Herm" 4th rounder... |

Here's the deal: The 49ers said today that they are staying pat with the #6 pick. The Jets are now looking to move down & draft Cutler or draft Ferguson at #4. The Titans are staying pat to take Leinart at #3. Green Bay wants Hawk bad if he falls to them at #5. If this is all true, we cannot trade down with Oakland or we will lose Hawk & Ferguson. Hopefully, we will take Hawk at #2.

Smitty, um....thankyou. I see it as clear as Ricky Williams sees the NFL substance abuse policy. I'll read it again...(I'm from Idaho). :P
