The last thing we need is a QB in the first day. Croyle is going to be solid in the right system, but not for us. Our bellcow is Brees now...get used to it kids. Payton comes from the school of great leaders with skill overcome great skill that can't lead. I think Brees has a long term deal.
Now, Croyle is a great kid. Some team is gonna be real happy to get him and in 10 years, he may be a great QB with numbers behind him. I actually think the Dolphins, Jets, and a couple of other teams could use a guy like him. He got injured in college, yes, but that isn't necessarily a harbinger to keep teams away. Leftwich got hurt too, but he went #7. If we hadn't gotten Brees, I could seen us taking D in the first and Croyle in the second(third if we had one and he dropped) |

i don't think he is a prospective player for the saints at all. if you think that you might as well push for leinart at #2. as said though and i agree, he does have a boatload of intangibles it seems. the knees are definitely an issue too. some are saying the jets are interested in him at #35. they did have another gimpy kneed alabama quarterback that did okay a while back too. And not Richard Todd.

Todd McShay thinks we should draft Marcus Vick. We already have a ridiculously athletic "project" at the quarterback position. I think we should take that kicker, Huston or something, from Ohio State. Carney has worn out his welcome.

with payton's emphasis on character i think its safe to say that marcus vick, even with his arm and talented feet, will not be getting drafted by the saints... maybe big bro michael can persuade the falcons to take him and make him their #3, but other than that he's completely sabotaged his chances with most NFL teams in the market for a quarterback

kicker, will be addressed as usual in free agency... don't forget we have nate fiske from ucla, that was one of the best kickers in his draft class... maybe he'll supplant carney this year... personally, i'd love gostkowski from memphis... the kid has serious range and accuracy....

No Qb needed... Brees, Martin, A-mac. If another Qb signed needs to be a vet or and undrafted FA.
