The Times-Picayune reports the New Orleans Saints had worked out a trade at the top of the fourth-round of last weekend’s draft to select QB Chris Simms, from Texas. However, the Saints weren’t able to land him because the Tampa Bay Buccaneers drafted him with the final pick in the third round.


WHAT?!?! B/c Brooks, Bouman, O'Sullivan, and Finlen aren't enough QBs? Is that really an area of need? I tell you guys, I don't understand what goes through our coaches' heads sometimes. OK, most of the time.

This sounds like those TB and NO were trying to play a game of who gets who first. Remember, we really don\'t like them, and they hate us (still took 2 from \'em) TB just beat us to it. Oh well, You think our depth chart looks inflated, Check out theirs!

I also read where they were going to pull the trigger on Boss Bailey in the second round had the Lions not snagged him up first. In the article I read, Haslett was on the phone with Bailey asking him about how he would feel playing in New Orleans. Then the Lions selected him and the rest as they say is history....

funny thing is, depending on where you read..predraft.. the saints were not very high on bailey. guess there is a differance in not liking a guy with the 17th pick and if you can get the same guy with the 37th pick.
