this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don't believe that Bush will be the hall of fame back that everyone says he will be. He doesn't have enough weight. If he's an every down back, he will have a short career. I pray we trade out ...

Bush overrated
I don't believe that Bush will be the hall of fame back that everyone says he will be. He doesn't have enough weight. If he's an every down back, he will have a short career. I pray we trade out of 2 and stock up on extra picks b/c I have a bad feeling about this cat. I do believe he would be an awesome WR.

I believe Bush is about the same size as a player who came out of Jackson State, and went on to be GREAT...Sweetness, Walter Payton. Was LT any bigger than Bush coming out of TCU? Just thoughts and "not teeing off"!

Comparisions with Barry Sanders aren't really called for (Barry was probably thicker, right?) but I think it shows you that you don't need to be big to have consistent success in the NFL a RB.
We've got a pretty large cat at running back; he's been hurt rather often. Not teeingg off |

The remaining question is: can we find a trade partner for Deuce?
I can't see keeping both of them. Maybe we could get a 3rd for Deuce? |

Keep all 3, I forgot about bennet in an earlier post, but with duece and bennet having injury issues its best to be safe rather than sorry. Remember Edge wasn't back to himself until his 2nd season back from injury, so there is nothing saying duece will be 100% this season.

Can not trade duce. Coming of knee injury and his new contract. Besides bush is not an back to hammer the middle and we do not have one on the team right now to do that in duce's place. Duce does need to slim down and reduce the stress on the knees.
If Bush stays health he will be in the hall. Unless he gets a raw deal like Archie. If Archie played on a team that had a good FO he would have been a sure bet for the Hall. If we take Bush the OL is key in the draft on day one and we will trade out of 34 if Mangold is not there. |
