Will Bush hold out?
We all know he's looking for a very fat contract which is one reason why the Texans didn't select him. The money between the first and the second is a big chunk of change... do you think he's going to wait until the regular season to sign?
My vote yes. How do I make this into a poll someone?! |

I don't think so b/c just by making the pick, Benson pretty much HAS to pay the man. For this to blow up into a long-term holdout is the worst kind of PR. If Benson didn't want to pay, he would have said trade the pick for what we can get.
It's a good move to rehab his image, but he's gonna have to use all his smarts to avoid cap hell with Bush and Deuce's contracts combined. I say Bush signs within a month. |

Bush will hold out, his camp has been using the threat to extort Houston all week. They seem to think they can get more money than the first overall pick.
No way in the world Bush makes it to mini camp. He may be late or not at all to regular camp. |

Bush may never sign. What's this west coast child of Hollywood going to make of the wasteland that was the 9th Ward, and the suburban wasteland that is Kenner? How will he be compensated for being in the 43rd TV market? Reggie could accept millions LESS from the NYJ and he'd still come out ahead in endorsements.
On the other hand, he may stay if he thinks he'll be a temporary NO Saint, before "going home" to the LA Saints by 2009. |

Correction: NO was the 43rd TV mkt, pre Katrina.
We now rank way below even San Antonio, which won't get a franchise. With Tagliabue gone, I fear a NO move to LA is a matter of when not if. |

Man whats with all the friggin negativity. Bush knows he is now the poster child of the franchise. He has endorsement money already lined up. He is even more marketable now, HE WILL BE IN ON TIME, and Benson will pay him. If Bush holds out it hurts his image and marketability, and now is the best time to be in the big easy. Mike Vick put a lowly ATL franchise on the map and in the limelight, Reggie will Vault NO into primetime. The world will be watching the Monday Night Opener against Ron Mexico and the Falcons, and NO with Bush will be featured! Who talked about SD before LT? Now SD gets notice even when they are a marginal team. Bush is an impact player, the rebuilding of NO is a feel-good story Bush + NO = marketability for him and the CITY!

The power card is Katrina. Reggie made PR comments in the draft about helping rebuild the city... he'll be stuck with that for a while. Won't be able to jump ship as quickly without putting some mud on his face.
