Evans is a big 'un!! and Strief is massive as well...jeez.

just replying here to keep the thread up. an excellent resource to see videos of all the picks.

Evans looks like he could be switched to nose tackle. Just saying.

Last time around before it dies in goes to the thread graveyard

Funny.... I read the USA Today's bios on all of our draftt picks. The one that sticks out the most is Zack Streif. It starts out.....Enormous player. :D

Two MASSIVE linemen is always a good thing. Starting them both on the right side, at G & T, could negate their average ability to move in space because of the amount of space they would take up.

I know alot of people think because of Strief's size, he will be a guard in the NFL, but many scouts project him as a prototype RT that could play in the league for years. :D

pakowitz 05-05-2006 01:43 PM

hes got the size for it

Strief is definitely going to make a good tackle. Evans... probably will be a guard, but as I said in a previous post, he seems to have the physical tools to be a defensive tackle. I see him coming from D-1AA school as a plus because players from really small schools seem to be more willing to accept coaching.

He handled his business quite well against top competition in college. As much as I like Bobby Carpenter, Streif had a play in the Ohio State game where he chunked Carpenter about 10 feet out of the way. The one thing about this guy I like is the "bull rush" is non-existent against him. This & the Colston pick in the 7th round were two of my favorite picks of our entire draft (the Bush pick does not count).

Holy sh**!!!!!! I'm marking my calendar. Wheelman, I totally agree with you on this one.

I just watched the Evans tape again, and I can't see how anyone can say that he would not make a good defensive tackle. That sucker is a flat out beast.

foreverfan 05-05-2006 03:35 PM

The guy looks like an ice wagon. He will be a guard.
