Segal said Bush will Participate in Rookie Camp
Saints | Segal would like to have R. Bush signed in time for training camp
Fri, 5 May 2006 06:25:28 -0700 Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports agent Joel Segal would like New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush signed in time for training camp, but it may not happen. The majority of Segal's clients who were first-round draft picks experienced holdouts of anywhere from zero to 16 days. "I always like to get a player in on time," Segal said this week, adding, "I never discuss negotiations. Ever. I've had guys drafted all over the first round, three, nine, eight. But I don't discuss negotiations." The Saints, who last dealt with a Segal first-rounder in 2004 when he represented DE Will Smith, who missed two practices, would not allow senior football administrator Russ Ball, with whom Segal will be negotiating, to comment about Segal. DL John Copeland's 25-day ordeal with the Cincinnati Bengals is the longest a first-round pick of Segal's went unsigned. Segal will be working below the figure the Houston Texans gave No. 1 overall pick Mario Williams, whose five-year contract is worth $54 million with guaranteed money of about $26.5 million and includes a team option for a sixth year. Segal said Bush will participate in the Saints' three-day rookie camp. http://www.kffl.com/hotw |

How about $48m for 6 years, $22m guaranteed. Slightly less than Alex Smith #1 2005.

LOL...nice pun there whodi.(Referring to the subpar deal.) I think 50 mil is a good figure.....throw some incentives and we can only pray that Bush will enjoy being a Saints and stay here for as long as he can.
