Saints Basher in DeRidder writes for Beauregard Daily News

Want a Good Laugh?

Editor William C. Wadsack, of the Beauregard Daily News, has declared the Saints losers. What is so funny about this article is a small paragraph towards the end of the article which reads:

"A lot of people like present Saints' quarterback Aaron Brooks, and while he's not bad, he's not good enough to turn the franchise around. And he's certainly not good enough to win New Orleans a Super Bowl - with or without Bush."

Wow! It amazes me how someone can give such a staunch opinion about the Saints based on QB Aaron Brooks, who now plays for the Oakland Raiders, ability to be "not bad" but not good enough to turn things around in the Big Easy...er...Oakland.

Please send him your comments!

OK, so I read the article, and I sent him a letter to let him know how off he was, and he posted this new article on the Saints.

Way Over The Line

Brees won't make the Saints good

Yes, I will admit that I made a mistake with my last bit of “wisdom - Aaron Brooks is no longer a quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.

I remember hearing that Aaron Brooks had signed with the Raiders and that New Orleans had signed Drew Brees, but in my excitement to bash Reggie Bush, I completely forgot about it.

The roster I was looking at while writing the column was from last season when Brooks was still on the team so that's why it never even entered my mind.

But that's the only mistake I made. And I could have easily inserted Brees' name for Brooks' and left everything else the same.

I'm going to feel so sorry for all the disgruntled Saints' fans who keep sending me hatemail when Brees crashes and burns like Ricky Williams' career.

I can only imagine the ridicule Saints' fans must go through on any given Sunday.

To be given that little sliver of hope the Saints are so good at providing before their inevitable complete collapse must really wear on people's minds.

That's the only reason I can think of for their complete inability to grasp my column.

Several people completely missed my implication that Deuce McAllister had an injury-plagued 2005 season because he's a member of the New Orleans Saints and nothing ever goes right for the Saints.

In fact, if there's some way to really screw a situation up, Saints players will usually find it - that's why I said I wouldn't rule out possible jail time for Reggie Bush in his family-housing controversy.

I know my statement that the Saints are cursed and my comparison to the Boston Red Sox was confusing for some since Boston recently won a world series and have lately been a perennial playoff contender. But I thought saying that since the Saints are “nowhere near as popular as the Sox, their curse will never be broken was clear.

I guess I was wrong, so I'll make it clearer: The Saints will never win the Super Bowl.

Finally I had a boatload of people explain LeBron James' stats to me because I said I'd “correctly predicted that LeBron James was too young to go straight into the NBA and make an impact.

That was self-deprecating sarcasm because I actually wrote a column several years ago about how LeBron James was too young to go straight into the NBA and make an impact.

Obviously, I was wrong about that and I was saying I could be wrong about Reggie Bush - though I'm not.

When these people repeatedly explained James' impact on the NBA to me, I couldn't help but wonder: “What kind of idiot do they think I am that I really don't think LeBron James has established himself as a superstar?

I'm guessing they thought I was the kind of idiot who would refer to Aaron Brooks as the Saints' present quarterback even through he'd left months ago.

But really, who has time to pay attention to the lowly Saints when my beloved New York Jets are gearing up for their Super Bowl run.

*********************************************************

That prompted me to send him the following letter.

AHA, and now the true reason for your deprecating ... or is it defecating nature. You are jets fan. A fan of the team that tried to decapitate Aaron Brooks before Kyle Turley answered back loud and clear with what is one of the most satifying moments in Saints history. You were silently wishing and praying that the Saints would give the jets the 2nd round pick, with which they would of undoubtedly picked Reggie Bush. That would of made you as happy as a pig in crap. But no, the Saints were not about to make that mistake and it infuriated you. You are a miserable being that is forced to live in the state that you think stole Reggie Bush from his rightful place in New York. The fact that you are a New Yorker only further explains your miserable nature, your arrogance, and the wishful thinking that you are right on anything. What trash you spew forth. It is so bad that it is actually amusing. You are a good writer, I give you that, but a complete dunce when it comes to knowing what to say or when to say it. What a waste of literary ability. I must only assume then that you were forced to live in Louisiana, since you appear to be hating life's every sinew, and probably awaken daily with nightmares of the Jets picking Reggie Bush only to realize after your morning cup of coffee that it was but a dream and that the New Orleans Saints, yes ... that team that squashed your dreams got him instead. I now understand your hatred, and your ignorance.

GO Saints

sheesh, almost as bad as that Alexandria article. At least it is just DeRidder LOL. Cheap writing like that deserves a letter to their boss. The paper loses credibility from such jerkoffs.

LMAO, No Jeremy, I felt the same way. Just exercise your option to write in to the paper. I guarantee you will feel better after doing so. The sad thing is that I think this guy IS the paper. It might be an online only rag. I wonder if anyone in DeRidder even knows about this guy. Oh Well, after his article gets around, he will be known if only because his mailbox keeps getting hit with wooden objects.

Clearly this guy Wadsack is an idiot. However, your comment about New Yorkers; "The fact that you are a New Yorker only further explains your miserable nature, your arrogance, and the wishful thinking that you are right on anything." puts you right there with him NOSaints. Anyways, Wadsack should check his history because the Jets haven't been winning many championships themselves recently, they've only won one superbowl in 40 years and that was 37 years ago.

Yes.

Anyway, the question that comes to my mind is why in the world would someone who obviously does not follow the team choose to write an article about the team. If he only vaguely remembers hearing about Brooks leaving then he's only catching like 5% of what he needs to be catching in order to do his piece any justice.

I'm sure the journalists who I know frequent this board must find this wholly unacceptable on a professional level.

Otherwise, it makes me very happy when professional writers make these kind of mistakes. The common public rarely gets the chance to abuse them as they tend to abuse us common folk.

Do you guys want me to write him an official rebuttal or "letter to the editor" from blackandgold.net? It would be interesting to see what he would say.
