Courtney Watson to Miami...

Profootballtalk.com posted a blurb saying we are trading Courtney Watson to Miami for Eddie More.

I always liked C.W. but i heard he wasnt fitting in well with the new staff, and he isnt a superstar.
Anyone know anything about Eddie More?

Dolphins' Moore has surgery to repair fracture in knee

Nov. 4, 2005
CBS SportsLine.com wire reports

MIAMI -- Miami Dolphins backup linebacker Eddie Moore had successful surgery on his injured right knee, two days after he was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

Moore had surgery to repair a small fracture in the knee Thursday. He hurt it against Buffalo on Oct. 9 and was not able to finish the game.

Moore played in five games as a reserve, but had battled knee trouble much of the season.

Par for the offseason if it's true. To come play for Sean Payton, you either have to be a safety or coming off an injury. I heard we may shop Michael Bennett to them as well, I wonder if we could get Jack Hunt in return(LSU boy AND a safety. Win win right)? Or even Norman Lejeune.

LKelley67 05-10-2006 09:58 AM

It looks like a trade of our disappointment for your injured LB. 2nd rounder for 2nd rounder. He doesn't have a perfect record either though, arrested for disorderly conduct in '04. If watson wasn't in the plans might as well get someone who might.

2004: In what was essentially his first NFL season, played in 13 games, including four starts ... Was inactive for two games and spent the final week of the season on injured reserve with a knee injury ... Collected 34 tackles, a fumble recovery and four passes defensed on the year ... Ranked third on the squad with 12 special teams tackles, where he also was credited a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.

2003: Was placed on Injured Reserve on August 29th and was lost for the season ... Underwent surgery on December 10, 2003 to remove a stabilizing screw from his left foot that was inserted during an initial surgery on August 11th ... The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist and the Team Physician for the Carolina Panthers, at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina ... Moore originally underwent surgery on August 11, 2003 to repair a left Lis-Franc type mid-foot injury ... The surgery was performed by Dr. Anderson at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte ... His only appearance for the Dolphins this season came in his Dolphin debut in a reserve role in the first preseason game, on August 8th vs. Tampa Bay at linebacker and did not have a tackle before being forced from the game permanently after suffering that left foot injury ... Signed a five-year contract on July 24, 2003 ... Second round draft choice (49th overall selection) by the Dolphins in the 2003 draft.

I'm not a huge Watson fan, but really isn't this dealing a healthy player for another Cie Grant?

wheelman 05-10-2006 10:21 AM

Ahem. Travis Daniels please.

hagan714 05-10-2006 10:22 AM

Skip it. Draft pick please. I looked through the roster and did not see much there we do not already have. 3 or 4 would be okay in 07. Same with bennet. Picks please or choice another team to deal with. Renaldo Hill is a nice CB addition. Depends on his hip. Though he is competing for starting safety position not CB. That should be to paytons liking.
Will Poole was brought up in the Bennet thread

gandhi1007 05-10-2006 10:30 AM

Miami is deep at CB. Why not trade for one of those instead of another I.R. guy?

saintswhodi 05-10-2006 11:05 AM

Cause all you need to win is safeties, character, and players coming off injury. Duh.

Oh?

JimBone 05-10-2006 12:11 PM

Maybe its me but i like the players that Payton has brought in. I am tired of watching bad football being played by stupid athletic players. I would much rather take the slower guy that knows where to be and makes the play. But, maybe thats just me.

LSUJeremy 05-10-2006 12:36 PM

I don't think Watson's stupid. He did go to ND.

I just don't think he's good.

TalmanGardnerCousin 05-10-2006 12:48 PM

Its a done deal they traded him its on wwltv.com

gandhi1007 05-10-2006 01:03 PM

Alright!!!! We got another I.R. guy!!!!!

gandhi1007 05-10-2006 01:13 PM

Check out the skinny on Moore. looks like we 've added yet another safety. WTF?????

EDDIE MOORE-TENNESSEE

Summary: Undersized strong safety/weak-side linebacker tweener who might be able to play linebacker in a Tony Dungy type of defensive scheme where the "Will" 'backer is protected and generally playing against air.

LSUJeremy 05-10-2006 01:43 PM

And a LB for a LB.

Uh...great...

saintswhodi 05-10-2006 01:45 PM

Another great move. At least there's a plan, even if it is to collect as many injured players or safeties as you can. It IS a plan. :?

LSUJeremy 05-10-2006 01:49 PM

I think I plan on naming my first child "Safety".

Payton will probably offer a contract on the spot.

saintswhodi 05-10-2006 01:58 PM

I bet you can't even SAY the word safety near Payton without him jumping out the bushes with a contract and a pen.

You're at the car dealership: You: "So, this is that new safety............
Payton: "Where can I sign him?"
You: .........glass they were talking about. Who the hell is this and why is he offering me a pen and a 4 year 2.5 million dollar deal?"

Well, this is a real winner of a deal for Payton then....this guy is a tweaner which means he's probably more of an NFL safety & he's stayed injured throughout his college & NFL careers. We've got a real winner here! :?

So next year we'll stockpile TEs? Then the year after DEs? And instead of going after a bunch of injured players, we could go after only guys who appear in those NFL United Way commercials.

papz 05-10-2006 03:24 PM

As for Watson... never was a big fan of the guy anyways. Now let's all watch Saban turn him into a good player... that bastard. Why does he have to be such a good teacher?!

As for Payton... the purging continues! Let's guess who's going to be next. I'm thinking Sullivan but we need size up front so he'll probably give him another year. LOL who's left to purge? Deuce? Stallworth? Grant? He would be making a mistake if he did.

gandhi1007 05-10-2006 03:28 PM

Wrong guy Papz. This guy played for Tennessee. Now I'm an SEC guy, & his name just doesn't stand out. Oh, I forgot....he was injured most of his college career, too.

gandhi1007 05-10-2006 03:31 PM

Ahh... you edited your post, papz. Feel free to ignore my previous post then.

papz 05-10-2006 03:40 PM

Haha... yea I figured after I went to do some researching I had the wrong guy.

TheDeuce 05-11-2006 12:46 AM

I have no problem with this move. I think Watson does have some talent, but if Payton believes that his team needs to be filled with high character men, then this move is a good one. Watson never really did anything besides get drafted in the second round. You guys can bash Payton for all of his safety signings and what not, and some of it is warranted, but this move is fine in my eyes. We just traded a criminal for a guy who has some injury problems. When it all comes down to it, I'd rather be rooting for a team filled with good men who care about their team and about their community more than talented players who care about nothing more than themselves. To me, these guys are representatives of New Orleans, and I personally would rather see high character men than low character trash that gives my hometown a bad name.

The fact that you responded, leads me to know you were sitting behind your screen laughing your arse off. To hell with you LB. :P

Stole that from Kelley's thread. You were saying about criminals and character?

BrooksMustGo 05-11-2006 08:48 AM

Tempest in a teakettle guys. No way either of them would have started. Either would be doing well to contribute on special teams.

Why the league insists on passing their headaches around is strange to me though.

Hospitalized? That means he got his a** kicked, too! Great!!! At least Watson didn't get hospitalized for getting his a** kicked at some bar. :bang: Good move FO!!!!!!!!
