Anyone find the article: "Coke sales skyrocket in Jacksonville."?

RE: JIMMY SMITH RETIRES!!!!!!
Statistically, he is one of the biggest surprises in the NFL. In the last 10 years he's a top 3 receiver in the league. Oh well, I guess the Jags are REALLY going to be in trouble with their passing game now.

RE: JIMMY SMITH RETIRES!!!!!!
Really REALLY in trouble... Wilford has been solid for them the past years but he's far from being a go to receiver. I guess he'll get his chance though. Reggie Williams has been a bust thus far and Matt Jones is still a bit raw. They're in trouble but with that defense and Fred Taylor, they'll definately still be competitive... not to mention I think they have one of the best head coaches in the NFL imo.
It was fun watching Smith over the years especially when Keenan was still there. Oh well... he's made his money and if I were him, I'd probably retire too. Spend more time with the kids and family. |

RE: JIMMY SMITH RETIRES!!!!!!
Jimmy was a great one on the field. There is some speculation floating around that he may have failed another drug test. That could be the reason he retired...
Jacksonville will be okay. This may have been a major blow, but they still have plenty of time to address the WR position. Either someone like Matt Jones steps it up, or they can address it via free agency after June 1st. |

There is a report on ESPN.com that the Jags may be looking to trade for a WR and the number one option is Stallworth who apparantly is "dying to get out of Joe Horn's shadow". I wonder what they would offer in a trade for Stallworth since they are desperate for help at WR?

My want list from Jacksonville's defense is huge. I like Henderson or Stroud at DT especially. If we did make a trade with them for Stallworth though (considering the current trend), it would probably be for Donovin Darius-Safety.

Peterson would be a great move. I would put the bait in the water for one of their DT's first though. With Smith gone they might be willing to give up alot more than one might think for a decent receiver. Stallworth is probably the best available receiver on the trading block right now.
