this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Every other comment is, "I'll bet we'll take a safety", or, "we'll trade for him and make him a safety". I may have even made a safety joke after the draft, but wow it's kinda played out....

"Safety" jokes getting a little old on the boards?

RE: "Safety" jokes getting a little old on the boa
Maybe, but having a front office that keeps trading for safeties, signing free agent safeties and drafting safeties very high is played out too....

Well I hear that Mark Roman of the Packers, who is a safety as well, is unhappy about another free agent acquisition the Pack made this off-season. We could always trade for him and we'd have Mark Roman and Roman Harper. Could you imagine the possibilites with two safeties like that ROMAN the defensive backfield?
I better do this before it even gets posted......BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

A few musings.
Until the Saints have a few games under their belt under Payton (or Gibbs as DC) the strategy being employed will fall under pure speculation and based on THEIR association with Parcells. That being said, one would have to admit, the trend thus far is incredible. I wish to say goodbye to Carney, Watson, Stallworth, Bennett, and Dwight Smith. It was nice while it lasted, but as most things, they do not last forever. The addition of Brees has extended the life of Joe Horn with the Saints, otherwise, Payton, IMHO, would be looking to send him packing. The one player I am looking foward to seeing is MLB Albert Fincher! It is obvious, as fans, we were unable to see the full potential of this guy due to an injury. Gibbs is going to kick him into high gear. IMHO. With the addition of Fujita and Simmons, I will reach to say the Saints LB's are going to make a difference in 2006. Let the ranting begin! |
Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!

I feel it safe to safely say, that all the safety talk can safely be put in a safe for safe keeping, at least until the safety talk can safely be brought up again, safely! |
