A Few Questions
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a while but I check the site all the time and am very excited about the upcoming season. I have a couple of questions I was hoping to get some feedback on.
1. I was listening to Sirius NFL the other day and they were ranking the units as a whole in every division example(AFC North 1.Pittsburgh Defense, #2 Cincinnati Offense, #3 Pittsburgh Defense, #4 Baltimore Defense and so on.) They did this for every division but I did not get to hear the NFC South so I was curious what you guys thought. I tried to make my own rankings but the teams are so close to me that I had trouble coming up with an order that I could stick by. I think Carolina Defense would be the #1 unit in the NFC South but after that it get tough. What do you think. 2. Everyone seems worried about the LB situation which is questionable at best but the CB's scare me. Mckenzie is our #1 but he plays more like a good 2 and Fred Thomas plays like an average starter. It does not seem that we have any quality depth at this position. The Saints rarely address this position and during the season it is a glaring weakness. I have hope that Anwar Phillips may develop in the future but I really think the draft is the way to go for corners because the ones in free agency every year get overpaid. By the way I get all my Saints news from this site as it is as knowledgable as any sports message board I have visited. |

RE: A Few Questions
This is actually quite interesting and somewhat hard to do. Just for kicks, here are my rankings:
1) Carolina Defense 2) New Orleans Offense (Where the Saints SHOULD rank THIS season IF they reach their potential.) 3) Carolina Offense 4) Atlanta Defense 5) Atlanta Offense 6) New Orleans Defense 7) Tampa Bay Defense 8) Tampa Bay Offense I know I have Carolina's offense ranked somewhat high, but remember that they DID make the playoffs. Their unit, when healthy, is pretty tough to stop. |

Wait, you have our defense before Tampa's? Is that a misprint? When did that happen? Is age a factor going into determining something like that, as in they have to get worse at some point? I'm just wondering Oldies. Until we do something on the field, and with 47 safeties and weaknesses at D-line, LB and CB, I just can't see our D being better than Tampa's.

http://www.blackandgold.net/site/ind...wtopic&t=13530 Thread on the South's D.
On the corner situation... it could have all been solved had we drafted Williams in the second this year but oh well. One day, we'll draft a corner again... that will be better than Alex Molden. |

That and I'm a bit drunk. Haha! I still can type, though. |
