QB
Many of us are high on Brees. With good reason, I suppose. None of us can say with any degree of certainty that Brees is fully recovered and will ever be the same. Some of us think he may be a little more brittle and will hold our breath from week to week on the re-injury possibility. I think we can all agree that he's probably a little more fragile at the very least.
Who is our back-up QB? When "what's his name" started the last games last season folks screamed bloody murder and wanted to see A-Mac. Speaking of A-Mac. Is he worth a flip? Who's our third guy? Questions, questions.... 8) |

Officially, it's unofficially: 1) Brees, 2) Jamie Martin, 3)Bouman, McPherson, & Bruce Eugene
I believe that because of the Martin signing, Bouman will be cut, and McPherson & Eugene will be left to battle it out for third. The loser will be placed on the practice squad. Incidentally, Martin was a really good pick-up for the team. |

Here are Jamie Martin's stats from last year, courtesy of Yahoo! Sports:
In 8 games last year, he had a QB Rating of 83.5, completed 70.1 % of his passes, threw 5 TDs and 7 Ints. For more stats, see: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/2674 |

1) Brees instead of Brooks: Definitely a leap, if not a pole-vault up in talent and leadership, alone. 2) Martin instead of Bouman: Much better numbers and talent than Bouman. 3) McPherson or Eugene: Basically, a wash. Both have great talent for a number 3.
If we had just cut Brooks, never signed Brees, and got Martin; we would still be better off than last year. |

You guys seem to have forgotten out most recent acquisition and NM's favorite QB, Mr. Klat. Why did we pick him up? Do you think he is slated for Practice Squad/NFL Europe?

He is pretty much just another arm to bring to camp until Brees is healthy. That is about as far as it goes for Mr. Klatt.

I think that money could of been better spent. We did not need another arm for training camp. LB & CB is where we need to be spending our Dollars.
