Brees Update

Saints | Brees throwing 80 passes a day Wed, 24 May 2006 20:51:00 -0700

Jim Corbett, of USA Today, reports New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (shoulder) is supposed to be throwing 40 passes a day, but has doubled that to 80 passes a day four months after arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn labrum. Brees is showing a lot of confidence while throwing pain-free and strong and added, "I feel good. Coming off this injury, it's proving not only to a lot of people but to myself this can be done."

How's Culpepper doing again? 8)

I can't wait to see him work with Horn, Stallworth, and Hilton... things are looking up.

RE: Brees Update

Brees will not help Donte that much. Same with Henderson. They are not that good. they just do not have hands.
Zach we will see. I have hope for him.
Horns mouth not Brees arm will determine Joes fate

RE: Brees Update

I think he WILL help our rec. corp. because he is more poise in the pocket, AB was nothing but panic and could not react well enough to even consider making a split second decison. They may be able to catch now that they will be getting a catch thats out in front of them. IMHO. I also think Joes numbers will be up big time over last year, unless our Oline is just garbage. If joe looks like Joe of last year, then Brees aught to fire a bullet pass in joes mouth.

RE: Brees Update

Look for a Saint reciever in the Pro-Bowl this coming year. Payton has gotten 3000+ yards from every QB he's worked with the last six years. I don't see that changing. If that stays true then one of our guys (Horn or Stallworth) will have 1200+ yards & 8+ TDs.

I'm only worried that Brees is doing to much to early. It's a long way through camps and pre-season, I hope he's thinking of the long run. There's no need for him to be killing himself. He's our starter, even if he doesn't play until the last pre-season game.

RE: Brees Update

brees will certainly help donte and joe and everyone else just by throwing the ball so they dont have to jump 6ft in the air or turn around in mid stride like they did in the days of AB
the only one who will not benefit from brees are the linebackers we are playing against

Well we can see you're quite the optimist.

RE: Re: RE: Brees Update

i think our receivers are fine and will get help with a healthy brees. i think haas will have a good rookie season. nothing mind blowing but will have a decent rookie season. i too am scared that brees is throwing to much. man just stay with what your suppose to do. i don't think i could handle him setting himself back by throwing to much.

He won't? Don't you think that having a leader behind center who leads his receivers and has something called "touch" is an asset that will help our wide receivers? I do. Besides, I think Donte was great last season. Devery just didn't play enough, but when he did, he was pretty impressive. I think with Brees AND an offensive minded coach, we are going to see our offensive production boosted this season. Don't underestimate what a catchable pass can do not only for a receiver's ability to actually catch the ball, but also for his confidence....
