this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Blah, I had a couple of errors. What I meant to say is *I can't date a girl who DOESN'T atleast share some love for the Saints....

I was born in '75 & was wrapped up by father & grandfather in a Saints blanket (so I guess I was born a Saints fan). Attended my 1st game with pops & gramps in '79 & I actually remember the game. It was an early insight into the franchise I would grow up to love. We got our a** kicked, but my father & grandfather, though cursing for hours, walked out of there still proud to be Saints fans. I am also 3rd generation LSU fan & alum. Besides those two, I am a Red Sox fan. Something I was also born into also, being my grandfather served in the war with Ted Williams & soon after became a Red Sox fan. I also had that "Dome Patrol" poster hanging above my bed. Ahhh......those were the days. Thanks for that memory, BnB. Besides sports, I have worked in the oil field since the end of '97 & still reside in the great state of Louisiana.

im 28 and as the name suggests im from west virginia. along with the saints i root for the braves, LSU, WVU, and bobby labonte. id say sports and music are my main passions in life. if im not watching something to do with sports im probably rocking out to some iron maiden or KISS.
i was born in new orleans and til the age of 10 lived right outside of chalmette. my parents moved here way back when and ive been here ever since. through all the years ive never been able to let go of the saints. my dad has parted ways and ive seen him jump from team to team every year. he loves to bust my chops when we have the seasons like we just did but i have too much pride to let them go. i may not comment very often but i read daily and really enjoy the site. infact i think i enjoy the site more during the offseason. as anyone outside of LA knows, its tough to keep up with saints news when youre not in the immediate area. so you guys get my kudos for a great site. also id kill for some crawfish....its been almost 20 years since ive had some and my mouth still waters for good new orleans cookin'.... |

There are lots of young bucks here. I'll be 41 next month. Here's my rundown:
Moved to New Orleans in 1972. My whole extended family was/is season ticket holders all that time. I lived in section 652 of the dome until I graduated from high school in 1983. Moved to Atlanta to go to school. I decided to stay and work in academia. Living in Falcons country sucks. This forum is my salvation. Along with NFL Sunday Ticket, which I'll be subscribing to for the 4th year. I usually get to the Saints-Falcons game in Atlanta. I also usually get to at least one Saints home game at the Dome. Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO
Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good. |

Well here goes.
I am 25. I was born in Abbeville, LA and moved to Lafayette, LA when I was 8. I graduated from Acadiana High School and UL Lafayette. I was a part time DJ at a local radio station in Lafayette and got offered a full time job in Iowa. I moved here when I was 22. Lots of Packers, Vikings and Bears fans but I proudly sport my Saints jersey every Sunday as I venture my way to the local sports pub and watch NFL ticket. My first memory of the Saints was I believe 1987 or '88 and Ruben Mayes. I didnt know why, but I fricking loved Ruben Mayes. Then Dalton came aboard and he became my favorite along with Morten Andersen. My dad hated every other team in the league that ever beat the Saints in a meaningful game. If they ever beat the Saints, he remembered where he was, what the score was and how bad the Saints got beat. I remember one time being at my uncle's house when I was around 8 or 9 and it was Cincinnati and Minnesota playing on Monday Night Football and I asked who he was going for. He said "The Saints". It took me around 5 years to finally understand what he meant. I am currently in a 2 year relationship with my wonderful girlfriend who is pregnant with our first child. She also surprised me last week with tickets to see the Saints play at Lambeau. Shes a keeper. I have seen the Saints play in St.Louis, Minnesota, Atlanta and of course the Superdome. The feeling when one sees another Saints fan can not be put in words. You can just see the suffering in their face and know that you have been along for the ride for a lot of the heartache that they have seen. I love seeing older guys in Saints jerseys and hoping that my Saints fandom will be filled with much more success than their long suffering years have been. Oh well, unless Benson moves, I will be a Saints fan till I die. I have threatened to quit rooting for them nearly every year. I sometimes even express my hatrid for every player and coach on the team. Come Spring time I get pumped, and come fall Im right back in front of the TV thinking this season will be different. Go Saints.....Forever! |

Here's my story...
21 years old, living way down here in South Texas, not a lot of love for The Saints. Been a die-hard since 90 (cmon, i was only 6 at the time) never liked the cowboys, my half bro has family in NO, so he brought me to my addiction. I drive to NO at least 3 times a year to see my Saints. My 5 and a half month old son already has his Saints gear, so he is the next generation of die-hards. Fixing to join the Coast Guard in the next few months, but as for now i spend my 40 as a Manager at a Radioshack in little ole Kingsville, Texas. Also a die-hard LSU, San Antonio Spurs, and Corpus Christi Hammerheads(indoor football, my buddy owns the team so i gotta be a fan) Played soccer all my life and went far, youth world cup a couple times. Now, Im old, work, play with my son, and scream at the TV from August til Decemeber!!!! Go Saints! Saintsfan1313 |
