Did anyone read the article "Saints are history" my father in law is the production manager for that paper, and I am almost positive i know who wrote the article. I will see him soon and I will tell him what he can do with his article. He can stick it up his A$$, and by the way if it is who I think it is he hates the Saints and would love to see them move to L.A.

Saints are history
Steve Wilson Enterprise-Journal Published Tuesday, May 30, 2006 12:42 PM CDT I hate to say it. Honestly, I really do. But the Saints are gone. History. Finito. Adios. They are headed out to Los Angeles, regardless of how many season tickets the remaining Saints fans in the area snatch up. It’s merely rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. I hate to be the bearer of bad news and trust me, that’s the worst possible news. The cries of “save our Saints are going to fall on deaf ears because of one reason: no corporate dollars. New Orleans does not have the corporations that rent those fancy luxury suites that fill up the revenue coffers. Los Angeles does in spades. New Orleans is one of the smallest media markets in the country and thanks to the wrath of Katrina, is only smaller. Despite protests to the contrary, it is no longer a viable NFL city. Los Angeles is the largest media market and there is not an NFL outpost there. Can you connect the dots? Buffalo is not going any where. Green Bay is staying put. Indy has a new stadium. Which leaves: the Saints. Owner Tom Benson’s protests about the aging Superdome and the lack of luxury suites were not the San Antonio car dealer whistling “Dixie. Don’t hate him even though his public relations acumen is as sharp as a marble. We’re not a Communist country, and Benson is in the business of making money. If he can’t make money from the Saints in New Orleans, he has to leave. The Saints are not a charity operation. Also, the mere fact that the state of Louisiana (already fiscally under siege before the hurricane) is paying the Saints a massive stipend is wholly unacceptable. With ticket prices out of reach of most, why should the state subsidize the activities of the wealthiest when there are plenty of things that need tax dollars? It’s corporate welfare at its worst and crooked at best. Mind you, even if Katrina had not undermined the levees, the Saints would be gone. She just merely sped up the process. Mark this down on your calendar: in two years, Reggie Bush and the Saints will be in La-La land. So enjoy No. 25 while you can. http://www.enterprise-journal.com/NF...4185cat=sports |

The thing that pisses me off is that he is a Gulf Coast journalist. I mean if he was from L.A., then we could at least understand his motivation, but by him writing this, a lot of people that read it from outside the area are bound to believe it. i think we should go pick this guy up, take him and that loser Editor Wadsack from the Bereaugard Daily News:
http://www.blackandgold.net/site/ind...wtopic&t=13402 that wrote that Shoddy Saints article, and throw them in a cell together so they can rot in jail for eternity and hasrass each other. |
