I remember Haslett looking at him before the draft, and I had hoped we'd take a chance on him after seeing him at UGA for a few years. He worked out for the Bengals and Marvin Lewis, but the chance they took this year on A.J. Nicholson (FSU) has backfired.

Aren't we exaggerating a bit here? Everyone has their skeletons, it doesn't mean they don't deserve another chance. Throwing out a 4th or 5th rounder at the guy could be a low risk high reward for us. I think it would be stupid not to consider it.

"The Bengals took another player with a history of being difficult to control last year and got mixed results. Linebacker Odell Thurman played wonderfully as a rookie but gave Lewis a few headaches in the process. Sources say he was fined close to $90,000 over the course of the season for various violations of team rules, though Lewis refused to confirm that." - Taken from sportingnews.com

More stuff on Odell Thurman. His wonderlic score was a 12. He was suspended over 5 games at Georgia for violating team rules. Prior to the 2002 season, Thurman was kicked off the team by headcoach Mark Richt. After he got kicked off, he attended Georgia Military Academy where he continued to be a cancer to that team. So umm... need I say more?

 That was too easy.

give thurman time. curious to see if he'll try to one-up henry and nicholson.

do you think lewis would like a re-do with some of these guys?

Cincinnati has the smallest scouting department in the league, BY FAR. In fact, it usually falls on whomever is their head coach to do a lot of the scouting, which, for most teams, isn't the case. Thus, details about these players are often missed by the Bengals, cause that's pretty hard to be head couch and scout thoroughly. I am sure due to these recent incidents, the ownership will be forced to expand their scouting capabilities.

Henry yes... he seems to never learn his lesson. He has some mental issues. Nicholson on the other hand let's wait and see. He might get his act together. As far as Thurman, nah. His talent and what he brings to that linebacking corps right now outweighs these minor infractions he's been having.

None of them is worth a middle or late role pick. We should just wait and see if we can pick them up as free agents. I bet that's what every team is thinging. Why give up a draft pick for the headaches Brooks, berryman and Dixon might bring.
