Saintuary, the REG-GIE chant started during game 6 of the the 1977 world series at Yankee Stadium. Reggie Jackson had homered twice and when he came up following his 2nd homer, the whole crowd was chanting REG-GIE, REG-GIE, REG-GIE. Jackson proceeded to jack one to dead center into the black seats for his 3rd homer of the game. Sorry, as a lifelong Yankees fan I couldn't let that go, but since then its been duplicated by green bay and I think that should be Bush's chant. It is one of the greatest chants I've heard. Another nickname could be "Reggie Franchise". Steve Francis no longer deserves the nickname and I think it'd be good for Reggie.

The nickname Flash stuck with D. Wade, I can't see why Flambeau can't stick to Reggie. It certainly has more culture than Flash. Louisiana Flambeau, Flambeau Field, we got the goods right here in the Big. By the way, I also drew up a pair of tennis shoes called Flambeaux. |

Yep. Unless something more catchy comes along, the chants you're gonna hear in the dome is gonna be "REG-GIE, REG-GIE". Not original, but Bush will be in good company and hopefully worthy.... On a side note - Years ago, golfer Jack Nichlaus's son played wide out here at Florida State. He didn't play much. But every time he took the field and made a catch, we chanted "Arnie! Arnie!". You just never know what nickname will take hold. 8) |

How about those immortal words spouted by Booger in Revenge of the Nerds?

Okay, can we come to an agreement on what we have so far? I know I submitted Le Flambeau, What I was looking for was something with a Louisiana or New Orleans culture, folklore or elegance. Swamp Fox is a good one, has any Saint player had that name?
