AP reports the New Orleans Saints have released RB Terry Allen, RB Ricky Williams, WR Derrick Lewis, WR Onome Ojo, WR Jimmy Robinson, WR Robert Wilson, OT P.J. Alexander, OT Mitch White, OG Jeff Chase, TE John Gilmore, DT DaMonte McKenzie, DT Abdul-Salam Noah, DT Richard Seals, DE Jermaine Miles, LB Jonathan Jackson, LB J.J. Jones, CB Kevin House, CB Jerry Wilson, S Richard Newsome and P Dirk Johnson.
Only ones I don't agree with are Robert Wilson (Guess we better hope none of our WR's gets hurt) and Ricky Williams. Seems like they never gave Williams a chance in the last 2 games. In typical Haslett fashion they already knew who they wanted in that position and therefore Williams never had a prayer. He might wind up somehwere as a 3rd down back. Also, I know that Dirk Johnson will wind up somewhere else and will end up in the top 5 or 10 punters. |

Personally, I wanted to see Ricky make the team, but after the trade with Cincy I think we all knew that wasn\'t gonna happen. Ricky has been traded to Indy for an undisclosed daft choice next year, and Haz stated that he was happy about it because Ricky deserved to play. I wish him well. I hope we see him in the Super Bowl!

Dirk has a great leg, but he\'s not nearly as consistent as Gowin.
LoL, plus (and this is not a joke), Gowin has to be one of the best tacklers on special teams. It seems like whenever a return-man is about to hit a seam and go all the way, Gowin musters up the speed and the strength to tackle him. Dirk\'s got the better leg. Gowin\'s the better punter. |

I think the organization made some great and pickups. Obviously youth and future id the direction the saints are taking. Cutting Williams was the only one I hated to see go.
