will the saints go after Porter
So new rumor is that wants out of Oakland, and that the saints may be an interested party. He thought he was going to be top dog in raider nation, and then they bring in Randy (or is it the fact that he knows who will be throwing him the ball this year and he wants to get out while he still can ). So do the Saints trade for him, and if so who do they offer, Henderson Stallworth? They do have bunch of bodies at the Wr position right now, but Porter is a proven commodity and I believe he does seem to have better hands than some of our current WR's ( but that may also be attributed to who was throwing the ball).

RE: will the saints go after Porter
I believe the reason Brooks used to "lock on" to Joe Horn is because Joe was the only guy on the field with good enough hands to catch those bad passes from AB. Just my two cents. |

RE: will the saints go after Porter
porter would be a nice add...that way we could move stallworth to his true position as a slot WR...we seriously lack a true #2.

Porter is a slower Stallworth that would not be an upgrade plus he's three years older. I say we pass.

Why are we talking about wide receivers? Last time I checked we had about 43 wide receivers (and another 49 safeties).
All of the Saints real questions are near the ball. Specifically offensive line, defensive tackle, and linebacker. Cornerback is still an open question. And whatever safeties we put on the field are not going to be the total package. We have 5 wide receivers that can play. We also are going to have Bush who can walk the walk and talk the talk like a wide receiver. Everything about our offensive line scares me. No worrying about wide receivers until the lines are solid.
