RE: Saints 2006 Roster

no shot tim euhus makes the final roster... billy miller has an inside track on the no. 3 te position, esp. since the offense will be throwing to the te's more often... i really think michael lewis' days are numbered, and the countdown started the day that bethel johnson was acquired... devery might not be there either.... i think leslie is gone in favor of mckinley boykin, who will be one to watch in training camp... evans will likely end up on the practice squad and we might sign adam meadows, who would bring needed depth on the offensive line.... steve gleason will finally be left of the roster in favor of some one that can actually play something other than special teams... i think anwar phillips, cb, penn st., has a better-than-average shot of making the team, and connor hughes should be able to beat out john carney for the kicker job...

I dont see the saints carrying 4 tailbacks either. McAfee is off the roster as is Gleason which really leaves us short on special teams...one of them will be here. Josh Lay has next to no shot of making the roster. He will be among the first cuts in camp due to his lack of toughness. I have a hard time seeing Rodney Leisle make the final roster. There may be a few surprises here and there and i hope Anwar Phillips is one of them.

QB--Drew Bress, Jamie Martin, Adrian McPherson
not sold on adrian being a payton type of QB yet.
FB--Mike Karney
we will have a back up on PS for sure.
RB--Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush, Michael Bennett, Aaron Stecker
I can see all 4. they are all passing threats also. Bennetts trade of course is the big deal.
WR-Joe Horn, Donte' Stallworth, Devery Henderson, Michael Lewis, Chase Lyman, Mike Hass
WWL based opion "henderson drops the ball again" herderson may be done. Now Johnson looked good and showed good hands. Hass was a ball hawk and caught everything no matter how they were thrown. Closton looked good to. these two are young guns of the future. but that is day one.
TE--Zachary Hilton, Mark Cambell, Tim Euhus
#3 is a tough call. but blocking will make or break the group. they all have hands.
OL--Jammal Brown, Montrae Holland, Jeff Faine, Jermane Mayberry, Jon Stinchcomb, Jonathan Goodwin, Jamar Nesbit, Jahri Evans, Zach Strief
Look for a new face at RT I think. Who knows a veteran LT with brown going back to the right, Jon is defintly on thin ice, .
DL--Will Smith, Charles Grant, Willie Whitehead, Brian Young, Thomas Hollis, Tony Bryant, Rob Ninkovich, Rodney Leslie.
Now leslie spent time with the first unit on day one. I think we are still not settled at DT
LB--Anthony Simmons, Scott Fujita, Alfred Fincher, Tommy Polley, Jay Forman, Colby Bockwoldt
Simmons is AWOL. Think you got to much faith in Forman. I think another LB will be brought in.
S---Jay Bellamy, Roman Harper, Bryan Scott, Omar Stoutmire, Josh Bullocks
this is the group
CB-Mike McKenzie, Josh Lay, Fred Thomas, Joey Thomas, Jason Craft.
Biggest weakness we have IMO next to the OL. Please get a new face here.
P--Mitch Berger
set
K--John Carney
no reports on kickers yet
LS-Kevin Houser
one of the best in the NFL
