bush practices for 1st time, but bottom paragraph says all

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The only thing stopping Barry from being good from the 20-endzone was the O-LINE. Build a dominating O-line and you'll do great from 20-endzone....

Ah, Barry Sanders. For my money, the best RB of all time. Bar none. What he did on Sundays with a minimum of talent around him(outside of one year where Johnny Morton and Herman Moore went off with Scott Mitchell cause teams had all 53 men in the box to stop Barry), will never be repeated. Reggie has similar cutting ability, but Barry is Barry. It's like when people compare basketball players to Jordan. Yeah they may be similar, but there's only one. Same with Barry.

Not to say anyting bad about Sanders ( great running back) but he was only good from the 20 to the 20.
Barry was great from endzone to endzone. Remember, this guy made things happen with a makeshift OL & no QB.

You don't see Bush breaking ankles and putting people in IR.
You don't? Try telling that to those 11 Fresno State defenders who all got juked on that one play where he had that just ridiculous cutback. I agree papz, Bush has a different style from Barry, but don't underestimate Reggie's agility, it might be the best since Barry.

For my money, the best RB of all time. Bar none.
My favorite player of all time and IMO definitely the most exciting player to ever play the position.

I wish Sanders would've been on the Cowboys for his career. Emmitt Smith never would've put up the #'s he did had he been on the Lions. Sanders probably would've topped 2,000yds a few more times.

I've never liked Emmitt for some strange reason... he just looked boring as hell when he ran.

For saying Barry was a 20-20 guy, it was because the coaches always took him out after he ran all the way down the field. It's not like he couldn't have been a bigger touchdown guy, it was the coaches that didn't allow him to be. I think it definately helped him maintain success throughout his career though. He would have taken more hits in those short yardage situations. He already carried the ball 25-30 times a game... if he would have had the rest of those touches in the redzone, crap he'd carry the ball over 40 times every single game.

I won't compare Bush to Sanders just yet being he never played a single down in the NFL where the big guns are but I'm sure he will be a very good back which will be fine with me.
