Titans want to sign Kats DL Minucci

The Titans have offered a free-agent contract to Nashville Kats defensive lineman Joe Minucci, who led the Arena Football League team in sacks last season.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder is expected to sign in the coming days. Because of NFL rules, however, Minucci will have to first clear waivers before he becomes property of the Titans.

Minucci, who had five sacks last season, worked out for the Titans and was given a physical earlier this month. He's considered a hard-working player who is projected as an interior defensive lineman in the NFL.

He played college football at Delaware and played one season with the Tennessee Vipers in arenafootball2 before signing with the Kats. He was with the New York Jets briefly during the 2003 offseason.
