N.O. is in a very enviable position with two Probowl caliber backs as starters. Sure, Duece is aging and still recovering from injuries that have sidelined him in the past, but he is still number one in my book. He has earned that status by proving himself on the field in the NFL year after year.
Reggie, on the other hand, has to go out there and prove to the SAINTS and the rest of the NFL that he can do what he is predicted to be able to do -- be a # 1. And I sincerely hope he does.
I see Reggie attracting the lion's share of the attention form the medai and the SAINTS' opponents, which makes it both tougher on him and potentially a little easier on Duece this season. Because of that, I think Duece should have a pretty good year. But in the long run, I see Duece easing into retirement in a few years with Reggie firmly planted as the star. But Duece isn't going anywhere just yet. He still has some good playing time left and by having both players at the same time, both have a chance to be the best they can be.
