The Associated Press reports the New Orleans Saints have signed undrafted rookie free agent OG Stefon Wheeler (Michigan State) to an undisclosed contract.

BIO: Three-year starter who saw limited action with the first team as a redshirt freshman.

POSITIVES: Wide-bodied blocker with a good degree of athleticism, footwork sliding out to protect the edge, as well as effective hand technique. Strong at the point and engulfs defenders off the snap. Makes good use of body-positioning and jolts opponents with good hand punch.

NEGATIVES: Lacks adjustment, not light on his feet and can be beaten by nimble or quick opponents. Must develop a nasty streak. Poorly conditioned, heavy-footed and looks significantly overweight.

ANALYSIS: A top prospect after his sophomore campaign, Wheeler has suffered with injuries and weight gain the past two years. Has the ability to play at the next level at a number of offensive line positions if he gets himself into football shape.

I skipped this guy on my nfl cut list because after reading the Negatives I thought of Sully. wonger what kind of shape he is in? I see the listed him at OG not OT as in college.

If you look at my pics from yesterday you can see him in his tryout. He looks just like they say. He looks heavy but the kid can move. I watched his complete tryout. He looks to be ok, guess we'll get the chance to see. He has good handspeed, he just looks to be a little bit overweight. Has nice manboobs. lol. If he stays,Payton will work those off.
