More on D. edwards
Saints | Team trying to acquire D. Edwards
Thu, 17 Aug 2006 16:38:34 -0700 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the New Orleans Saints are looking to acquire San Diego Chargers LB Donnie Edwards. The team is offering a second-day draft pick. |
Whenever the day comes when the Chargers decide they are going to trade edwards, we are going to get him...there isnt a doubt in my mind...Edwards will either play for the Chargers or the Saints...it all depends on whether or not they decide to move him.
|
I would rather us play with him than against him....... so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

If the team feels they need him, then I hope they get him. I just hope it happens or not, because I am tired of hearing about it.
|
i read some where that the gaints have interest and johnny morton is their bait.
he wont be playing saturday either. that now 2+ weeks out of action |
Do it now....He may only have two good years left, but that is two years that we can retool that area and others. Especially if it is for a second day pick.
|
One of my friends told me that we are offering a 2nd day pick, but the Chargers want a 1st day pick. I think he saw this on another website.
|
With Sproles out for the season, maybe the BeerMan for Edwards?

With the young receivers getting such rave reviews it certainly would be easy to give up Beerman, Bethel Johnson, or Jamal Jones to fill their KR need. Throw in a 5th-7th rounder if needed. Do it.
|
PS
welcome aboard jonny. glad to see you have come out of the blue into the black, you were never really gone so you could come back, you weren't gone so not forgotten :band: |
who are the gaints? i really don't think that donnie edwards helps us out like you all think he will.... the guy isn't any better than what we already have....

that's all great but even is christ himself donned the black and gold, he wouldn't get to the ball carrier either b/c he'd be tangled up with blockers and stuff.... our defensive line is terrible (even with the 2 ends we have) and that's the stroy morning glory.... until they get better vs. run and better rushing the pass, we'll have lackluster performance on defense by the linebackers and secondary.... we have to shorten the amount of time that the qb has to scan the field and narrow/clog running lanes... til then, it wouldn't matter if we had the dome patrol back, they wouldn't be effective either....
|
as long as we dont give up toooooooo much for him...... like stallworth for edwards is dumb...... but maybe a KR we have and then a second day pick would be right......
|
I wouldn't give away Jones LkELLY, he can catch and contribute to the offense, he can be a #2, the others won't contribute as much as Jones can
Bethel, 6th or 5th round pick for Donnie Edwards, maybe even our 2nd 4th rounder since we have two of them |
I just heard on NFL radio that we offered the Chargers a 4th round pick for Edwards

I look for the Saints to make a stronger move for Edwards after this game.

No doubt Marley. It was the worst game I've seen since....... last year.
Bring Brooks back? Hehee. Special teams looked ok and we had no injuries. The whole team looked like they had tired legs. Malcome got spanked by "The Big Tuna". |
Actually our LB's did good, it was our corners...
Foreman made his pressance felt at MLB, and the other guys played well too But with Edwards it'll be better |
after this game hold on to that pick. we will be drafting in the top 5.
