Stallworth is better than Colston

I like how Colston plays, and I hope that he, Donte', and Devery are the top three WRs one day. But Donte' goes up against #1 defenses, for the most part. While Colston goes up against #2 defenses, for the most part. If you swiched them, Donte' would make those defenses look bad, and Colston would not do very well going against the other one. Let's give this guy a chance to get better before, you start calling for him to start, when he hasn't even played a regular season game. The coaches know what to do.

RE: Stallworth is better than Colston

1st of all.....Donte's problem has always been inconsistency. That's the dilemna. I've seen way too many juggled & dropped balls from the speedster. Grant it....he did have a moron for a QB the last few years. So...throughout practice & the 1st 3 games Colston has shined on the 1st team (& the 2nd team for that matter. Brees overthrew him for one easy TD in the 1st quarter of game one, & he was wide open without a look against Dallas in the 1st half. The difference in the two is that if it's a catchable ball in Colston's direction, he's coming down with it! Donte can out run just about anyone on the field, but he's got to catch the ball 1st (not something he's consistent at). Also....his attitude seems to have him in Payton's dog house, so if he gets traded.....we've got a guy that can take over the #2 spot & make plays.

P.S.-Never start a thread about one player being better than another. It tends to come back around & bite you in the a**. Comparing these two receivers in particular will be an example. Colston is the real deal since day one. Stallworth, while I like, is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna' get!

I read this thread title, and I said to myself "ghandi is gonna get in someone's arse."

Yeah, well................. :D It didn't help that I had to pick up my kids yesterday when my wife got sick & missed our little fantasy draft. Needless to say, I got 3 stud QB's & no RB's. Thanks honey.....that really set up my fantasy team for the year. :? By the way.....anyone need Tom Brady for a QB. Offer decent starting RB's & it's on!!!!!!!!

saintswhodi 08-28-2006 09:43 AM

That was your team that took the top 3 QBs? lol We were laughing a good bit at that one.

gandhi1007 08-28-2006 09:49 AM

Yeah, well........ I was suposed to be there for the draft, but my wife decided to get sick. Needless to say, I came back home at around the 14th round to see I picked Manning in the 1st (which was o.k. since I had like the 10th pick). But then.....I saw I picked Brady in the 2nd? WTF? Bad part is I had set up my player list in case something like that did happen, but FoxSports obviously didn't save it. Oh well.....I guess I'm skimming the waiver wire for RB's.

saintswhodi 08-28-2006 10:04 AM

Yeah foxsports did something screwy with the draft order too. I set it to random, and it said the order would be set 30 minutes prior to the draft. Well, the order didn't change for what it had been all along. I tried to change it since the draft hadn't started, no dice, I woulda had to delete the league. And THEN in a normal draft, you can Q up players for you to pick. Well in foxsports, if you queue a player it picks them right then and there. So frustrating. But it was still fun.

I don't think Devery out played Bethel Johnson, if I had to cut one of them today I'll cut Devery. They are both the same size with the same potential however Devery bobble or drop the ball to much.

Horn is better than Moore

And that my friend is precisely why we traded Stallworth to the Eagles & kept Colston.

Please feel free to dog on my boy some more. That is why I said this earlier:

cough*agenda*cough
Moot point now wouldn't you say?
The man had ample opportunity to prove himself.
The Coach doesn't like him.
He was seen leaving MSY tonight.
Good luck in your future endeavors Donte'.
I hear Philly cops don't enjoy being asked if they know who you are.
p.s. invest in STICKUM!

saintsrule 08-29-2006 01:39 AM

I hope Donte' does well with the Eagles. Drew Brees threw two ints in that last game, so I assume he is a moron also. I know he will not be called that on here. I wonder why?

cajuntexcop 08-29-2006 01:40 AM

HAHAHAHHA..Hey Rocky..aint that the truth. Here in Ol' Texas we don't take kindly to that sorta attitude neitha............ but we at least smile as we are slingin them around and takin them to the hooskow..........in Philly..........ol' Donte better get some LLoyds of London coverage if he barks at the Philly Fuzz that way. They will eat him...and his lunch..

mikesaintfan 08-29-2006 08:07 AM

cold weather in philly and windy too...
hamstrings are gonna be a problem agiain for DS

LKelley67 08-29-2006 08:12 AM

Where was is that Donte was called a moron? Intelligence wasn't the issue (although a UTer LOL). Attitude was something questioned between the ears. The "who I am" in the Bentley and a cursory check of his myspace page leads me to have an idea how he was the wrong kind of "playah" for Payton. Bottomline though was simply the hands. Speed to spare and he made progress with the injury bug. NFL history is scattered with potential that was never fully realized.

hagan714 08-29-2006 08:28 AM

you guys got it bad look at my team.... I had change the name to the scavangers
Closton is a gamble I agree but I think we are going to get another WR next year either through the draft or FA.

LKelley67 08-29-2006 09:24 AM

I had not seen this Drew Brees quote on Colston-

“He’s been playing great. He gets better every day, Brees said. “Those are the kind of guys we want on this team — guys that come in and work their tail off and end up fitting into a role on this team, which he’s going to do. He’s going to end up getting a lot of opportunities, which he deserves. ... Just look at the guy. He’s a big target, physical, catches the ball very well. He knows what to do. He’s smart. What can I say? The guy deserves it.
