But while second-year project Adrian McPherson has missed most of the preseason because of injury (thanks to the infamous mascot collision in Tennessee), veteran backup Todd Bouman has shined in the exhibition games. Despite Bouman's $710,000 salary for this season, Payton seems willing to go with three veterans at quarterback.>
