Hand\'s contract was hitting the Saints a lot harder this season than Jackson\'s was as well. Jackson has also been demoted to second string for now. If he doesn\'t get his weight down, I seriously don\'t see Grady here after June 1st. Norman was also at a decent weight starting last season, but what happened? He and Grady BOTH ballooned to over 360. They just got lazy as the season wore on. Frankly, I\'ll be glad when both are run out of town.

A new start is probably exactly what Hand needs. When he went from Miami to San Diego he had a great start. Same thing when he came here from the Chargers. He\'ll probably look like a steal for Seattle this year as well and then revert back to fat Norman after that and he\'ll have another change of scenery two years from now. That seems to be his trend.

im not really sure on hands condition.. but i figure that the saints just wanted his cap value off of the team 5 mill for a player who seemed to be in decline isnt something they were looking forward to... also.. jackson last year... even at around 360 was the more aggressive of the two and was the most effective... not to mention the cheaper of the 2

I would be surprised to see Hand do anything in Seattle (although I always liked him as a person and am pulling for him). He is older and I think his best days may have passed. I agree with all the comments about Grady being better last year than big norman (and cheaper). I remeber in the 2001 or 2002 Sporting News, Grady was ramked as one of the top 5 dt\'s in the league (I am not saying I agree but that is what SPorting News said). I do remember that he was unbelievable in 2001 for Oakland. So maybe there is a little more upside to grady turning it on again (it is a contract year for him).
