Why did the Cowboys let him go? Was he a starter?
I'm hoping these moves help us. BTW... there are 6 safety's on our team. HA!!! Anyone find that peculiar? |

Petitti, 6-6 327, started 16 games last year! The Boys had O-line probs and you don't get waived for nothing. Still, it is someone with experience that was sorely lacking.

best move we made in the past few days. the guy has experience starting. while it has been said that the cowboys line last year wasn't as well off as it could have been, they brought in fabini to compete with petitti this year, so i can't knock the guy for losing his job. plus, he's still young.

He was ABSOLUTELY awful last season for the Cowboys. He was definitely the weakest link in the Cowboys offensive line that was pretty bad. He got heat pretty much on a daily basis from the Dallas Morning News and the radio stations in Dallas. That probably explains why he got cut. However, he is still young, and has a lot of talent. I definitely like the move and I think if he isn't just thrusted into the starting position (like he was last year when Flozell got hurt), he can develop into a solid OLineman.

I believe this will turn out to be a great move. He hada asolid year last year asa rookie thrown in the fire. My friend is a cowboys fan and he is really pissed about the Cowboys letting him go.

what Parcells had to say about him after the cut...
Disappointed in Petitti? No. You just can't keep 5 tackles. I had no idea that Colombo and McQuinstan would turn out this well. So they changed the situation. You have to make a decision. He had a real good offseason, and he is a better player now than what he was. But I did what I did because I thought these other two guys were better and I wanted just one experienced guy at right tackle. That's what it was. |
