What do Saints fans have to complain about?
I live in Ohio and can't comprehend what some of you went through with Katrina! I feel for you and the families that were and still live everyday in uncomfortable circumstances that most of us take for granite each and every day! I do not understand why Saints fans are so down on their own team! I don't understand every decision that our new coach has made...I question some of the guys we picked up, but I know for sure that we are a team on the rise! We should look at the situation and know that even though we can't comprehend every move made, we have got 28 new players this year on our roster and are in the midst of building a winner! Be excited that the Dome is going to host its first game in over a year! We have a young, energetic coach who is a disciple of coaches such as Bill Parcells. We didn't end up getting Mario Williams in the draft...We got the most electrifying young talent to come into the league in the last 15 years or so! We got a Pro-Bowl QB who is smart. We have a healthy Duece who looked great in his 6 carry, 62 yard , 1 TD performance. We have nice Defensive ends, good young safeties and a quality middle LB! We also have some descent draft picks stashed away next year. We are a work in progress! We will not dominate this year, but the first thing to establish is mentality! I think Payton is getting guys who fit his system..Guys who are future stars and getting guys with character (who by the way have helped tremendously in re-building the city...Reggie, Horn etc..). A house is build from the ground up! Sure, our O-line is shallow and not very great, and we have holes in the defense to fill. I look at the depth chart and wish we had Willie Roaf-like talent across the board! It is discouraging because our society is a "NOW" society, but we are going to be there perhaps sooner than we think! FAITH.....I'm as guilty as the next guy, but I'm nothing but positive from now on. I have FAITH in our coaching staff to evaluate players and personal. With all that the city of N.O. has been through, the Saints should serve as something positive to look forward to!

RE: Re: What do Saints fans have to complain about?
Well said. I think, with football, people (myself included) can tend to take losses hard. A loss carries so much gravity because it hangs around for a week until the next game is played. It's not like baseball where there is another game the next day and a single game has little bearing on the standings.
If and when the Saints lose this year, I'll try to take that frustration and go on do something positive with it (try harder at work or at play in my own life). If there's something that's bothering me about what the Saints are doing, I'll get it off my chest and be done with it. Bashing John Carney day after day won't help anything. |
