Kuale OT Ben Archibald DE Eric M. Moore Now this is better on paper than last year. Lets see how they come together as a team. I still think Peyton has one more move up his sleeve before the trading dead line. I know the Carney bit is still up in the air. Like the move of Haynes back to DE. Chicago tried him at DT. Fincher to SLB. Melton to WLB hmmm. This is why I think a trade may happen. We need another true SLB for back up. Maybe Fincher moves better in less traffic. Milton I though was better off at the WLB. Young guns to start out at safeties. Both the new CB listed behind M&M. that wont last. Hats off to Evans. Now that is a 4th rounder. maybe next year we can get a couple of more like him in that round. |
RE: Opening Day Depth Chart
Hmmm......Colston is the #2 WR. Nice!!!! What a draft, huh? When your 1st, 2nd, 4th, & 7th rounders start in game one, I'd say that is as successful a draft class as we've had in recent years. Hopefully, they all play well. Kudos to the FO & coaching staff.

I am personally wondering how long it's going to take guys like Pettiti, Danny Clark, DeJuan Groce, and Antwan Lake to crack the lineup. I'll be looking for Pettiti to make a move to right tackle sometime this season if Stinch is as unimpressive as he was in the preseason. I will also be looking for Danny Clark to move to the middle LB spot, and shift Simoneau over to the WLB spot in place of Shanle. The other two I'm not so sure about. Our corners have played so badly this preseason that it wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of Groce this year. |

If you find yourself debating wether the glass is half full or half empty....I say you just need a smaller glass and have another look. |

RE: Re: RE: Opening Day Depth Chart
I don't know, I think we have a much better defensive unit this year than last.
|
I don't think Reggie is starting yet.
|
Still say that Reggie will be in the slot a lot at receiver, especially in 3 and 4 wide sets.
|
I've been saying in other threads about Payton holding back on the playcalling during the preseason, and I think that this is one of the things that we didn't see much of in the preseason, but I hope we will see a lot more of during the regular season.
|
I also actually have an excited anticipation to see what the regular season playbook will bring. It has been friggin years since I sensed that. You didn't have to watch a lot of football to read what play was coming with the Saints IMO.
Lots of double tight end sets, Reggie and Deuce in the backfield, etc., etc.--- COMING SOON. I can imagine one play as seen in the Mia-Pitt game last night... Deuce a solo back but sets a step forward. Reggie trots out to the slot. Reggie in motion goes and stands in the tailback position. They can give it to Deuce in the up position to the middle holes with a fake to Reggie to the off tackle. Or vice versa. They did that with Ronnie Brown up and Chambers going to the tailback. Then handed off to Brown like a FB. Nice design. |
