i agree. i wanted mcneill. and i also agree that winslow threw harper around like a rag doll. but he stayed physical with the guy, despite being outweighed by 50 pounds (and you know that's all muscle, winslow is a speciman). donnie edwards would have been a much better option against winslow, if we had him on the roster.

I WILL give him that, he did not back down. I never said he didn't have heart. But all that heart didn't keep him from having his lunch handed to him. Not one thing he did makes me feel like he was better than several other guys we could have gotten. He has 15 more games to change my mind. TEs we will face: Franks, Crumpler(2x), Miller, Heap. So we will get a chance to see what he can do. A lot of guys have heart and get it handed to them. MAybe by the end of the year Harper won't be one of those guys, but right now, he's bowing at the feet of Winslow, a guy who is basically a rookie himself. Three games? 2 games before yesterday? Come on.

Winslow is and will continue to be an absolute nightmare for LBs and Safeties. I can't stand the guy given his past. Could I stop him? Not likely. Most defensive players who draw the assignment of stopping Winslow will also feel pain. My concern is that Harper seemed to want to deliver hits in run support instead of tackling the ball-carrier. That won't work in the NFL as many rookies before him had to find out for themselves. Hopefully he will learn to wrap up the RB and tackle him. BTW, I believe Winslow will make many Safeties and LBs look foolish for years to come. The dude is a freak. |

whoodi may be right about Winslow, but one thing is for sure I sure wish the Saints had him as their tight end today! Being from the U, he is not on my most popular persons list, but the kid can play (right pedigree as well).

Where are people getting this overblown impression of Winslow? From College? The dude has played THREE GAMES in the NFL, including ours. Ryan Leaf dominated in college too. And Winslow is coming off a broken leg in his first year, and shredding his leg in a motorcycle accident in his second. Damn, people need to remove their NCAA 2004 impressions of Winslow and see him for what he really is. A guy who COULD be good, but has played in 3 games out of 33 in his career. Anybody got any footage of Winslow dominating NFL safeties besides Harper? No? Prob cause there is none.

There's a good chance he will be without twice having his season ended and having a poor attitude.
