Omar Jacobs fans.............
<The Steelers gave up on rookie quarterback Omar Jacobs when they released him from their practice squad yesterday. The team drafted Jacobs in the fifth round from Bowling Green University, where he passed for 6,938 yards. He had every chance to win the No. 3 job behind Ben Roethlisberger and Charlie Batch and failed to do so. The Steelers contacted the agent for quarterback Brian St. Pierre even before Roethlisberger's Sept. 3 appendectomy with the idea he would become the No. 3 quarterback. St. Pierre served as the backup for the opener Thursday and Jacobs remained on the practice squad.>

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!

Where's all those dudes who tried to convince me we should draft him well after I changed my mind on him? Cut from the practice squad for Brian St. Pierre? Ouch.

Good point whodi. I remember some of the most ridiculous and outlandish arguments ever on this board around that guy. I liked him, but he wasn't the answer...

I liked him and still do... but there's no need for a quarterback anymore since we have Brees now.

I live 30 minutes from Bowling Green. I am a U of Toledo Alumni and go to a ton of MAC games (Steelers starting QB, as well as Backup are MAC, and they didn't want 3 MAC QB's on their roster)...Omar was great in the College offense B.G. ran, but he doesn't equate to the NFL! Gradkowski of the Bucs went lower in the draft and is a stud; Gruden loves him and he will eventuallt start in the NFL...Omar is pretty stinky!

It's all about being in a system that fits you the best... Pitt just didn't work out for him.
