team progress
OK..all of us are excited about the week 1 victory...and we should be, the defense played better than anyone expected and the Deuce and Reggie show promises to be exciting this year. But lets remember, we beat Carolina in Carolina in week 1 last year and we tanked it after that. The thing that stuck out to me the most in the Saints game was after the Winslow TD made it 9-7, McAllister fumbled in Saints territory...historically, you would think the defense would wilt and Cleveland would go up 14-9...but we forced a punt!!! That was the most significant part of the game to me. Now, going into Green Bay this week, this is a game that alot of people think the Saints SHOULD win, and i agree. We all remember what happened last year in Green Bay and i think this game is a big measuring stick to see how much Payton has reached these young guys and veterans. If the Saints come out and win this game, then i will be sold on Payton even more so than i am now because the Saints are notorious for losing games they should win. A win here is going to bring confidence heading into the Monday Night return to the Dome undefeated. If the Saints pull that game off...maybe they win 7 games...maybe they catch a couple breaks and win 9...but either way, winning this week means we are headed in the right direction and who knows what happens...

RE: team progress
I think the Saints are gonna be the sleeper team this season. Something just feels different.

RE: team progress
Another important thing to note...
They Saints were running some pretty complicated plays on both sides of the ball. There were people in motion every play. The old team's lack of discipline could have never allowed them to run plays like this. Coach P has done well. It should be apparent to everyone now that we WERE playing 'vanilla' in preseason. All that said, we beat the Browns. |

I'm hopin' we can get by Green Bay and break out some big-time tight end action against Atlanta.

Enjoy the win guys, don't let anyone take that away from you, the Saints will be 2-0 beating the Packers.
Anyone got a problem with that? The Saints just might win more games than one might think, a lot of people were saying going into the season that we would only win 5-6 games, I say we do better than that.. Go Saints!!! |
