NO-GB Preview and Picks

Maybe try to keep all the Preview-Picks artcles in one thread here...

OVERALL ANALYSIS

When Favre was Favre and the Packers were the Packers, any team venturing to Wisconsin did so as an underdog. But those days are now long gone. Though the former Southern Miss star can still crank it up for one week with the best of them, role players unable to support such a throwback performance surround him now. The Saints have more talent from top to bottom and, save a vintage effort from the Packer QB, will have proven just that on the scoreboard after 60 minutes.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Saints 21, Packers 14

RE: NO-GB Preview and Picks

ESPN INsider has the Saints 20--16, but more disturbingly than their confidence in the Saints is their belief that the McCarthy coaching team is superior to Paytons. We know that a rotting buffalo turd could manage a better game than our fondly gone ex-OC.

McCarthy is a heckofacoach a heckofacoach. He thinks that a trick play is an inside hand off. BTW as far up Fumbles' tail as McCarthy was, why didn't they take the Golden Child up to GB when thay had the chance. Could it be that McCarthy has other plans? Remember he is the one at fault for bringing Fumbles here to begin with.

Peter King SI-

I don't know why, really. I guess because this game, quite literally, is the Packers' season. They're at Detroit, at Philly and at Miami for three of their next four, and starting 0-2 at home would end any hopes they have of salvaging Mike McCarthy's rookie year.
Green Bay 17, New Orleans 12

I did like-
The Raiders might be the worst team in the history of the world. Fitting that Aaron Brooks is the quarterback.Baltimore 51, Oakland 3

NEW ORLEANS (1-0) @ GREEN BAY (0-1)
Going In: The grinding Saints emerged on top in Cleveland while the Packers were embarassed 26-0 by Chicago at Lambeau.

Key Matchup: Brett Favre vs. himself. True that the entire Packer squad played poorly last week but Favre barely completed 50% of his passes for 170 yards, two interceptions and three sacks.

Team Notes: If the Packers' passing game stalls again this week, Ahman Green's number may be called more than the 20 carries (for 110 yards) he had last week... A win on Sunday would mark the first time in franchise history that the Saints open a season with two road wins... Trade rumors abound in New Orleans that the team is listening to offers for RB Deuce McAllister after the great performance of rookie sensation Reggie Bush in Week 1...

Forecast: The Packers can't open the season with two straight losses at Lambeau can they?

The Line: Green Bay +2.5 -- Pick: Packers; Straight up: Packers.

Wow, firsts like that are noteworthy!
Deuce on the block?? I read around about as much as anyone and this is the first word I have heard of this at all. Sounds like a talking head to me.

The cap hit trading Deuce would be tremendous. No way is he on the block. Not this year.
