It can't get any worse.

Gee. Who'da thunk it. Two fumbles and an interception in the 1st quarter.

Who's up for Atlanta? I hear they actually have a team.

Not the defense's fault this week. Thanks Drew and Reggie and Deuce.

RE: It can

Why is it Reggie and Deuce's fault? Brees just need to be more aware and the O line need to do better but none of the turnovers were their fault.

saintswhodi 09-17-2006 01:04 PM

Reggie is trying to bounce everything to the outside. Just head upfield. I agree though, I don't see how any of this is on Deuce. Drew got hit for two fumbles. He didn't see either coming. Especially the one by KGB. The INT, I actually missed it watching the Bucs an dAtlanta for a second. But we can still put it together.

And if you need any indication that this is a different team and a team that has character, look at the score right now. Last year's team with Fumbles the Clown would've folded by now and the score would be probably 30-0. Not only are we still in the game but we are winning. Not saying we won't crap the game away in true Saints fashion later on, but these boys aren't giving up. On a team that obviously isn't very good, this is exactly what we need.

diff between this years team and last years is that we were able to work thru the problems and come back and win...great job of coaching in my opinion

Classic case of self-loathing.
AB is gone so (prematurely) look for a reason to hate.
Another AB-Crush exposed!
Xan. Come out of the closet! :poke:

This is all I ask for this season: play with heart; be competitive; don't quit.

That's what we got today.

I'll be satisfied if they play like that all year and go 5-11, 6-10. The staff has proven to me that they're good talent evaluators and after another draft/FA we'll be able to start looking for winning seasons, etc.

foreverfan 09-17-2006 04:08 PM

Unfreakingbelievable. Who would have ever thunk it. We Win. Brees redeems hisself.

RockyMountainSaint 09-17-2006 04:13 PM

xan, please don't flame.
I was just pickin' at ya Brah!

GoldRush26 09-17-2006 04:17 PM

Now we'll have to go through another week of some telling us that this win was no big deal and how bad we're going to get clobbered by ATL after barely beating a horrible Packers team. It's lose/lose around here pretty much.

One year ago we would have pissed this game away but they showed that they can overcome adversity. This may still be a 5-11 or 6-10 team, but at least this ship is headed in the right direction.

NoBandwagonrs 09-17-2006 04:18 PM

i dont care how bad they say we'll get clobbered...i'll still be at that falcons game cheering my head off

MYSELF

This is huge. I want Will Smith to rip off one of Michael Prioch's legs off and shove it up his glory hole.

Sorry guys. Not hating. I had gastric distress all during the 1st quarter and had to leave watching the game on gamecast to do some silly things with 40 seconds to go in the 1st. Unhappy with my situation and seeing a 13-0 deficit with absolutely no confidence in a turnaround, I let my premature disappointment get the best of me.

I'm anxiously awaiting the NFL Network's decision on which 4 games they'll replay to watch this for real.

I am concerned with the lack of production from the running game.

LordOfEntropy 09-17-2006 07:20 PM

Well, I can tell you this. Brees started the game awful. Usually enough to put a nail through the coffin.

But the team didn't fold.

They played decent football, on both sides of the ball. With or without adversity. They remained constant throughout.

And that is one hell of a tremendous improvement.

AllSaints 09-17-2006 07:35 PM

I gotta hand it to brees he played a good trick on us saints fans........

Look at it this way: No matter how bad Brees started this game......it beats the hell out of the way "Fumbles" started his game for the Raiders.

LordOfEntropy 09-17-2006 08:54 PM

Good point. It's terrible to say, I admit it, but I really do enjoy watching the Raiders struggle with their self-designated "topnotch" quarterback.

I really do enjoy it.

FanNJ 09-18-2006 07:19 AM

Due had only 12 touches in the game out of the backfield, but looked good on the swing pass and both TD Runs. Reggie spends to much time going sidline to sideline. I hope they pound the ball more next week with Duece and mix regie on on some two back sets to allieviate some predicability in the run game.

Just one mans opion though.
