So, Donte Stallworth
5 catches, 81 yds and another TD. Against a good team. In two games with the Eagles, 11 catches 242 yards and 2 TDs. Wow. Go Donte.

RE: So, Donte Stallworth
Yes, he needed a change of scenery or something. I agree with that. He's a good talent but wasn't able to put it all together in New Orleans. Then again, so weren't a lot of players or the whole team over the past few years.

RE: So, Donte Stallworth
yeah then in either ot or late in the 4rth he dropped a ball that would have got them a first down. butter fingers

Good for Donte'. He's playing with a chip on his shoulder right now and is performing well.

Donta is doing good .... but they still lost

Face it, with Brees at QB Stallworth would still be putting up those numbers here. There is not a catch that Colston has made that Stallworth would'nt have. The whole he drops the ball thing is old. He does it no more then any other receiver in the league, and we all know who was throwing the ball to him before.
I'm glad he's doing well and he keeps it up, no doubt the change if scenery might be the key, but we'll never know? |
I find it hard to find fault with Stallworth. I for one hope he does well in Philly. As I reported from training camp, he just got sideways with Payton, He never got out of the dog house. However, you'd have a hard time telling me that i'm sorry we kept Payton instead of Stallworth. If one had to go,I'd have to pick Stallworth too. 2 and 0 looks real good right now!

devery henderson IS donte stallworth. you can only have one on your team at a time.
i think donte is a good guy who lacks discipline. the change did him well and good for him and donavan. but, i think he drove peyton nuts. devery's drop on3rd and 10 looked just like somethin stallworth would have done. but, i still enjoyed watching donte make big plays for this team. i wish him well. |

Donte has looked good, but that's just me judging by his stats. I saw the highlights of his TD catches, and I might be wrong, but it looked like both of them so far this season have been on blown coverages or something where he's just standing all alone...
I think he's a good receiver, but I also think we got a pretty good deal out of that trade. |
The Giants are a pretty good team, maybe Donte is just getting open or blowing by guys? That's not his fault. There were SEVERAL blown coverages on Donte while he was here, and we had #2 still throwing it to Joe Horn, not going through progressions, or spinning in the pocket or some such. Think about it, if you look at the Eagles receivers, who would you say is the #1 1 right now? Donte. Do you honestly think a team like the Giants would just blow coverage on him? Especially after the week he had last week? AND, a blown coverage may lead to a TD, but 141 yards(last week)? And 81 this week? Are they all blown coverages? Donte is a good receiver. It's okay to give him credit. HE got a better QB, and the results are speaking for themselves.
|
Okay whodi.......I guess I'm still sore from all the drops when he was here. He has looked good without "Fumbles" throwing him the ball. Regardless......Colston is becoming the receiver I thought he'd be, so I'm still glad we traded Stallworth & gave this young man his shot. It looks like he's going to make the best of it. :D Geaux Saints!!!!
|
No doubt. Colston is a beast. How well Donte does or doesn't do is not gonna take one thing away from that. I am glad we have Colston. This dude is talented. I just don't see a reason to knock Donte cause he is also doing well. It didn't happen here, but that's all water under the bridge. Two good players. One good thing though, Colston is younger than Donte, we we can keep him longer. I'd give him an extension right now before he gets TOO good playing on a 7th rounders contract.
|
I would guess we will get the 3rd in the DS trade fo sho now too.
Good point on the 7th rd money. Good picks like that is a key ingredient to franchise success. Then when they extend early you still get them below market value (since they get the security early). Pittsburgh has been doing some very wise extensions just that way. Look how many miles/wins the Pats got out of Brady before they had to up the ante for him. Go Donte! I wish him all the success he can "catch". He couldn't latch onto his potential here but I don't think he was a part of the problem like some of the well known bums that were coddled. |
So Stallworth DID simply beat his man:

Against Sam Madison too. Go Donte!!!! |
Anyone taking odds how many times he'll score when the Saints go to Philly?

By the way, How do you guys like my Olsen Twins? (Or is that Quads?)
They're Saint's fans too! See the halos? No Whodi. Those aren't halos!!!! 8) |
I feel for any grown man who "likes" the look of the Olsen twins. They look 12 still. Gross. But to each his own. :P

His highlights so far have left me underwelmed. He's not consistent, or a hard worker and that's why he's gone. |
I saw a graphic on his first half stats versus his second half stats somewhere during Sunday's games. Where does he go in the 2nd half? Donte' is no more "special" than Devry, and neither one of 'em is Jerry Rice.
|
You know what, F#$K Donte. He's not in the BLACK AND GOLD anymore. The better he does the better we do in the draft.
|
well said pat..
very well said.. That's it in a nutshell...he's gone and we have some young WR doing very well in his place.. |

Thank you |
Here's a suggestion, and mind you it's just that: IF you don't like, care about, or wanna hear about Donte, WHY ENTER A THREAD WITH HIS NAME IN THE TITLE? If there is a subject I don't wanna read or talk about, I don't click on it. I know, it takes tremendous self control and it's almost impossible not to click every thread, but I am sure if you have got logging in down, you can manage NOT to click on a thread you don't wanna read about. I am a huge fan of Donte, and hoped he got a chance with a better QB. Well, he has, and he is showing what he can do. This has NOTHING to do with any receiver on our team, as it is becoming more and more obvious Colston is gonna be a star, so we don't need Donte, and got a decent deal for him. Not great, but that 3rd rounder will be good. So, if you don't wanna read about Donte being 5th in the league in receiving yards and tied for first with two receiving TDs, avoid threads clearly marked DONTE STALLWORTH in the future. Just a suggestion.
|
Colston has two too eh Whodi? LOL
Just pulliln' your chain. Personally, I couldn't resist the thread. Should I start a Delhomme thread now? LMAO |
someone's grumpy.....hehe...nah.....Stallworth is doing good in Phili, who cares. Now if we lose to Phili in the playoffs off a last second miraculous TD catch by Stallworth, then I'd be a little pissed, but as for now, he aint hurting us and we got a decent deal out of it anyway. Best of luck to him.

But you can start a Brooks thread. Does he even HAVE a passer rating this year? LMAO!!!!! |
