RE: What Would a Bucaneer Want?
Wow. They hate the turd birdz as badly as we do. I like it.
But then again, I've always felt an affinity towards Bucs fans. They've suffered nearly as long as we have. I've been to games in Tampa, watching Testaverde embarrass the fans again and again in that awful orange jersey. For an awful long while, they were as bad as we were. But more importantly, anyone that dislikes Atlanta is a friend of mine. |

Is kinda kewl to sense the whole world seems to be pulling positive vibes for the Saints this week.
Blanco put a big banner in front of the Gov mansion yesterday saying Saints Come Marching Home, Go Saints! TB is a team I think of... bad, real BAD for many years. But then a solid coach comes (Dungy) and they evolve in to a solid contender year after year. He leaves and another good coach comes in and they win it all and continue a winning tradition. THAT is what I hope has finally happened here. Whether 6-10 or 10-6, still see quality hard play- gritty and determined like last week. Lose some but don't perpetually shoot yourself in the foot with penalties and stupid turnovers like the last regime. |

I expect these feelings will not be the same once we play the Bucs. They prob want us to beat Atlanta cause they feel Atlanta is the better team, and a loss for them puts the Bucs a step closer to catching them for the division.

Its only natural though whodi. As a Phins fan as well I have caught myself rooting for teams because they are playing divison rivals like the bills or jets. We can't expect Bucs fans to be Saints fans. But its nice to see that between both of these teams Bucs fans would rather watch the Saints win. They have other options like....not care at all or hope the Saints lose. I see your point but I guess when it comes to fans that are loyal to other teams...even this back-handed support is welcoming. (My 98 cents short of a dollar.)

I can respect that as being your opinion, although I don't agree. They'd rather see us win, cause they think we will be easier to catch for the division, and it brings the Falcons closer to their record. It's not a matter of more love for us IMO. If WE beat two dominating teams like the Falcons did, or just beat Tampa, and the Falcons had just beaten two winless teams, they would be pulling for the Falcons. I'd rather they just say they hate both and keep on moving. But that's me. That's like if someone told you, "I like you better than this other guy cause you don't smell as bad." That's not a compliment, just like they are not really "rooting" for us, except for their own selfish reasons.

Well...I just read the thread and it seems that their support is not really back-handed. I see mostly people who empathize with Saints fans as far as lack of franchise success. Some because they REALLY hate the falcons. I dunno...I understand opinions are like anal cavities(clever eh?) but these guys like most people here...HATE THOSE DARN FALCONS!! Go Saints!!
