Black and Gold Country Indeed - Al Jazeera Network at Dome
I understand that the Al Jazeera network, one of the major middle eastern networks, will be at the Monday Night game in the Dome. I'm sure they are just waiting for the Saints to fail so they can show how the westerners crumble after a disaster. So that is just another reson for the Saints to rise up and show the world that the Aints are gone and that we dont give up easy around here.

I'm sure I'll get torched for this, but here goes:
Maybe they just want to report on the state of the city. If they were, in fact, contributors to the aid efforts, then why crap on 'em for wanting to report on the game? (For the record, I can't find any information regarding their contributions, so I am not saying that it is a fact.) My point is not to always assume the worst. They are a news agency and most of us just hate them because they broadcast tapes of people we hate and take a decidedly anti American stance. I imagine most of us have never watched Al-Jazeera, but we all have strong opinions about them. Tell ya what. Let's go to their English site on Tuesday and see how they report on the game/ the city. I'm not saying I know how it will go. They may crap all over us. But, it's not like the US media hasn't abandoned this ongoing story for pics of the Cruise baby or Lohan's snatch. For anyone who cares, there is a documentary out there called "Control Room". It covers them covering the war. They are interacting alot with a good ole boy in our military and it is extremely interesting to watch them learn about us and us learn about them. The American's opinion of them changes considerably throughout the picture. The reporters that they focus on are not the foaming at the mouth anti americans that you might expect. And our guy actually develops a very good repoire with them. |

Al Jazeera and the BBC are the two largest media agencies in the WORLD. There is nothing at all to be uneasy about. Katrina was a WORLD disaster, just like the Tsuanmi a couple of years ago. They have every right to cover it.
