Injury Report/Payton on Fan Noise
knock on wood, we have been pretty fortunate since the rash during camp...
Center Jeff Faine (arch) and defensive tackle Brian Young (shoulder) joined fullback Mike Karney (calf) as the only players who didn’t participate in the team portion of Wednesday’s 2 1/2-hour practice. Payton said he didn’t think the injuries to Faine and Young were significant and said Karney would be listed as doubtful for Monday’s game. An MRI performed on Young’s shoulder was negative, Payton said. Jonathan Goodwin worked with the first-team offense in place of Faine, while Willie Whitehead took Young’s spot with the starting defensive unit. Injury report The Saints filed this injury report with the league office on Wednesday: Karney is doubtful, Young is questionable, and Faine and linebacker Terrence Melton (hamstring) are probable. ----------------- “I’m looking forward to hearing them, but not just in the first quarter  it’s the same thing we tell our team, Payton said. “We’re looking forward to all four quarters of this advantage, and that can be a difference. “Playing in the Dome on the road can be difficult and it becomes especially difficult when that crowd is going the whole time and there’s no quarter off or plays off the whole time. Now that takes a lot of energy, but it’s the same thing we tell our team. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/saints/4183506.html |
