I have been lurking this site for years, particularly when I lived over in SE Asia. (I live in Houston now.) But I wanted to go ahead and register to get my two cents in on tonight as well.
Where to start, where to start? This has been a great season so far, particularly needling the Texans fans about Reggie. And seeing the fight and desire this group brings every down. Here's hoping the winning lasts. But if it doesn't, it doesn't matter. New Orleans and the Saints have already won. By standing and fighting back. To me, that is what this game symbolizes, the beginning of the long road back to respectability. Nobody expected the Saints to start out 2 - 0. Some rags had them finishing 2 -14. Where will they end up, 8-8, 9-7, 6-10? Doesn't matter. What does matter is this team is going in the right direction, playing with guts and fire. The wins will come for years to come. By entering this game 2-0 the Saints are giving the city of New Orleans a lift, a reason to smile. And like many, when they enter through the tunnel, I will think back to the many times I have sat in the Dome, and how I was so afraid that I had saw that for the last time. And this old roughneck will tear up. And I will blame it on dust in the air. I will be sitting in my recliner with the 62" and surround sound I bought over the weekend up an running. Lean out your window, turn your ear west, you might just here a good ol' boy from North Louisiana hollering back at you. Altogether now...........WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS? WHO DAT! WHO DAT! |
No matter what life throws at me, I'm ready. I'm a Saints fan, how much wilder could the ride get?
