Ya'll see Sean Payton jumping up after that blocked punt for the TD?? I think he could have won a dunk contest. I loved it to when he got in Deloatch's grill after that penalty. He is a fired up dude, and he expects the guys to be smart and disciplined. Saw ESPN called our defense "Slow, but smart". I'll take that anyday. Way to go Saints...

othe ESPN great comment was that you could see Parcells dripping through him, except for the creative playcalling, and he doesn't have the sarcasm of Parcells yet.

The stat I liked most is that only 2 coaches in the history of the NFL have started their career off 3-0 after the team having such a dreadful season the year before...
He's in company with John Fox of Carolina and Vince Lombardi. Yeowsah!

Did you notice that Payton was running or walking the sidelines on every play watching what our players or the Falcons did on the play. He was wanting to see everything himself. Not just stand still. He was there for that game. He has received my respect because of the way he is doing things for this team.

More than a couple of times when they were showing a close up replay of a Falcons WR and a Saints DB running down field going for the ball you'd see Payton in the background running down the sideline with them.

I was shocked to see Peyton's reaction to that blocked punt. I couldn't believe even he let his emotion get away from him at the beginning of that game! (I was bawling like a baby) But I saw his face after it was finally all over and he was back to ALL BUSINESS. Just another football game, guys. Mr. Peyton, I hope you have plenty to smile about by next January and I hope you let yourself do it. You deserve it!

It's a long season and there is much to be improved on this team beyond this year. But as things keep rolling along as they are I keep thinking to myself that Parcells, Lombardi, or whoever... they all had to start somewhere 0-0 in their career. After the J.D. North's in this team's history you gotta come across a good one eventually.

I liked this quote from Gleason-

Knowing the Saints would be a work in progress, Payton has preached effort, preparation and smart play.

and-

"The way we see it is we won three games, and I can tell you that winning three games in a (whole) season is not that fun," he said. "So we've got a long ways to go."

I liked it when he ripped Deloatch a new one for the bone head personal foul on the sidelines. He did not let him escape to the safty of the bench and dealing with John Bonamego. He chased him down. that showed the rest of the team you have to deal with him even if you score a touchdown. two big thumbs up. drive home perfection.

Brown got a chewing too after his holding penalty cost the Saints a big run by Deuce.
