Classic Bandwagon anaylisis. There's very few of them I respect. Most of them flip-flop too much. But it does allot for ratings. The Saints are a team. Will they make the playoffs? I'm not sure. They have a tough schedule that most teams would come out with a losing record from. But they looked like a playoff team last night.

ESPN analysts need to back the hell off the Saints bandwagon. It's already full. The vast majority of us have been fans for ages, but it takes a hurricane and a guy named Reggie Bush for the team to get any respect. Now I know many of you will say "When have we ever deserved respect?" Well, I guess a lot of people don't remember some of the Jim Mora teams during the days of the Dome Patrol. There was not a team alive that wanted to play against that defense. They deserved respect then and STILL got the Rodney Dangerfield treatment. The publicity is great for the Saints and the city, but it's taken way too long for these "experts" to take notice. Steve Young and Michael Irvin can get bent. They predicted the Saints to lose last night, but were all over the team when they had to eat crow. Tom Jackson and Chris Berman (As much as I hate that fat waste of space), were the only ones that I know that gave the Saints a chance. Berman even said you could bring in the 1978 Steelers and the Saints would beat them last night. That's a pretty bold statement. Sean Salisbury was just on their sack 10 seconds ago by giving the Saints defense his player of the week. They deserved that, but Salisbury is always a jinx on the team when he speaks good of them. ESPN's "experts" should be taken as seriously as a 3 year old giving sound financial advice.
After that rant, this football team looks like they are for real. I have never seen a Saints team this focused, this emotional, this disciplined, or this game-ready as this one is. It is still very early in the season, but damn, they look impressive. Their gameplan of stopping Dunn and Vick worked to perfection since it forced Vick to be a pocket passer. I knew if they could do that, the Saints would dominate the game. Peyton and Gibbs did a TREMENDOUS job of getting the perfect gameplan. |
People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.
