Rookies, Colston vs. Jennings

Who's better and will have the better season to you guys???

Which rookie wide receiver has the greatest Fantasy value right now?
Jamey Eisenberg
Rookie wide receivers are hard to gauge, but two guys are doing well this year in New Orleans' Marques Colston and Green Bay's Greg Jennings. I love Colston, but I think Jennings has more Fantasy value playing for a bad team like the Packers and playing with quarterback Brett Favre. While Colston has posted great numbers (20 catches, 336 yards and three touchdowns in four games), Saints coach Sean Payton doesn't want to be throwing the ball all over the field, which will hurt Colston as the season goes on. The Saints also have plenty of weapons for quarterback Drew Brees to spread things around in Joe Horn, Deuce McAllister, Reggie Bush and Devery Henderson. Jennings also has put up good stats (15 catches, 259 yards and two touchdowns in four games) and plays on an inferior team. The Packers are almost certain to be behind in every game, which will force them to throw a lot. Jennings should benefit in the short-term with Donald Driver (ribs) and Robert Ferguson (foot) being injured. As for comparing the two, both players have been thrown at 33 times this season. But I think Jennings will get more opportunities in the future.

If we're talking hot Fantasy rookies, let's talk Saints -- and I don't mean Reggie Bush. Seventh-round pick Marques Colston leads the Saints in receiving yards (336), receiving touchdowns (three) and receptions among WRs (20). His 336 yards has him ranked sixth among all NFL receivers -- ahead of no-names like Torry Holt, Larry Fitzgerald, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. How'd this happen? Saints QB Drew Brees developed a rapport with Colston early on and found him to be a reliable target (he's been thrown to 33 times). The 6-foot-4 Colston is averaging 16.8 yards per catch and has accounted for 15 Saints first downs through four games. The Saints have a tough schedule coming up, but with teams forced to prepare for Brees, Deuce McAllister, Joe Horn and that Bush guy, Colston shouldn't see too many double-teams, which is very rare for a player who has been putting up such awesome stats. That may change as opponents notice him, but Brees' interest in throwing the ball to him won't. Not bad for a guy who plays Madden NFL 2007, but isn't even in the game.

Colston's only got a couple more games of being unnoticed or a sleeper....I hope they take advantage

Defenses haven't considered Colston a sleeper since week 2.

Yeah, pretty sure that Gruden has noticed who he is.

Colston is the #1 rookie on SI's rookie watch gallery. He's not going unnoticed by anyone. Foxsports went so far as to say that he's a freak, and that was before the Carolina game.

^^^Me saw this^^^

He's well noticed, they can't stop em b/c of all our offensive weapons.

1)Bush
2)Brees
3)Deuce
4)Horn
5)DH

Then you add Colston, how are they gonna gameplan for all those guys. You double Horn, you gotta full dose of DH and Colston. You play Bush, you got Deuce comin at cha. It's a no-win situation, just what Sean Payton wants, expect him to give Gibbs the edge for the draft next yr to work on that D
