RE: joe horn thoughts

Well, from the beginning, I told people not to draft Moss. With Brooks throwing to him, he'll never acheive even close to his potential. Brooks is now hurt and, sadly, the Raiders don't have a QB to take his position that's any better than him.

I hope Moss gets out of Oakland and goes to a team where he can be productive once again. If not, his legacy is gone. He'll never be what he could be.

It's not Brooke throwing to him that's the problem, it's that NO quarterback for the Raiders will srtay upright long enough to feed him the ball. I mean, my impression of Brooks is that he will tear apart any team given enough time by the O-line (we saw this when he played against the Bucs because Deuce opened the passing lanes up). Moss isn't trying and the O-line in Oakland makes the Cardinals' line look like All-Worlders.

RE: joe horn thoughts

Even with the greatest line in football, Moss wasn't going to acheive his potential with Brooks as QB. Brooks can't throw the long ball to save his life. He has the arm, but no accuracy/judgement. He can only throw bullets. He's not very good at leading a receiver on a go route.

We've seen it over and over again. Horn and Stallworth could never get to those deep balls that Brooks threw.

With that said, it's not like the other QBs behind Brooks are any better, though. The whole team is crap. Moss needs to leave.

Yeah...Jeff Blake threw the prettiest deep ball in the league back in the day. Too bad Haslett sucked as a coach and motivator.

Actually Brooks was one of the best deep ball gun slangers in the league, the only problem was that he was not a leading QB. Brooks has torn apart the Raiders, and has no plans on ever succeeding again

But good trade

RE: joe horn thoughts

No he wasn't. Gah, I hate when people referred to Brooks as a deep ball thrower. If he was so good at throwing the deep ball, where were all of our 50, 60, 70 yard bomb plays? Do you remember any? No. He couldn't judge the receivers well enough. He had the arm, but all he could throw were bullets or bombs that sailed too far for the receivers to catch.

Look at all the AB highlights on YouTube and tell me how many bombs there are. Not many. The longest ones are bullets with the exception of the one GOOD bomb play that we had where the referee, unfortunately, gets in Joe Horn's way and breaks up the pass.

I'm sorry, but I remember us trying for the deep ball quite often. It always resulted in an incomplete pass.

Either way, Brooks aside, Moss needs to get the hell out of Oakland if he ever wants to be successful again.

RE: joe horn thoughts

Brooks wasn't a deep-baller. He could sling a laser 45 yards and never have it change elevation, but he didn't throw the rainbow type long ball that Blake could.
