As many have commented here before...Duece and Reggie compliement one another. If you put Reggie in the slot, defenses have to pay attention which gives Duece less than 8 man fronts and openings to RUN. Likewise, if they concentrate on Duece running, then Reggie, COLSTON, or Horn will burn them on the pass.
I for one would like to see more TE action. While Brees was in SD, Gates was a very good target. We saw glimpes of it this past weekend against TB. I would also like to see more FB action to offset Duece and Reggie...Karney can carry the load or pass in the flat. Payton is using his resources to the MAX (IMHO). Let's hope it continues. |
I have heard a lot of complaints about us not going deep against Tampa...but i was at the game and i noticed a few times that Brees looked deep and then checked down when it wasnt there. Then i hear all of you saying that Brees is making great decisions and playing like the smart qb he is. Well, i think if you look at the situation for what it is, you will see that Brees had the option to go deep, and didnt like what he saw so he did the smart thing and checked down.

Hey as long as Brees isn't throwing INT's....its all good. He looks a little like Montana. Short passes but good amounts of YAC.
As far as Bush and the attention. We all know the media will do what it can to make a story. I mean really, I could swear that last week, and I mean all week, I had T.O. for breakfast, lunch, dinner, he was in the urinal at work, my toilet at home, for what?? Going back to Philly? A medicine mix-up? Nobody should have been fooled into thinking that Bush was not being as productive as the other picks. (They started on with the crap that Mario Williams got his first sack before Bush got his first TD.) I guess the best thing about it is that Deuce has enough experiece and know-how to not let these things bother him. |
I understand the complaint about the Reggie play. But, I have heard Deuce getting some love nationally for his attitude AND his play. People are noticing the class he displays along with his ability.
Look at it this way, every time a LB pauses to look at reggie on a fake reverse, Deuce gains three more yards and has a chance to pop 'em in the mouth for even more. Deuce is secure enough (and rich enough) to lay back and just keep making plays. I think it is a fantastic situation. Having said all that......Deuce is a hell of a man and should be a source of pride for all of us. :airguitar: |
