Game balls:
Joe Horn - LTF will back me up on this. Before the game I said it'd be his breakout game, it was. The OL - No sacks and a good running game despite Duece being out for nearly an entire quarter. Hollis Thomas - Six tackles and a sack. Constant pressure and great run stuffing. |

I also give an honorary game ball to Reggie Bush. I know it's killing him to just be a giant decoy on 90% of the big plays. But he's handling it well. Not complaining about his touches, and he's stopped try to over do it with the juke moves. Even had his 1st fair catch. I'm just glad he realizes winning is the most important thing, even though his own teammate has a much better chance of winning Rookie if the Year right now. |

John Stinchcomb on offense and Scott Fujita on Defense.
No false starts and no holding penalties for Stinch against Cole, who came into the game leading the league with 6 sacks - Cole was credited with only 4 tackles and 2 hurries. This was a significant key to Brees' ability to effectively run the short passing offense. Fujita had 4 solo and 4 assisted tackles, 1 sack, 1 hurry, 1 interception and 2 passes defended. A superior performance to keep pressure on McNabb, keep Westbrook from finding seams and he also ran the D. Gombate Ne. |
