RE: Trade Deadline.................
I say Trade stecker promote Branch pick up CB or draft pick for next year...I know it will be a late, very late, rounder for stecker but with our coaches and scouts I think we could find another Jahri Evans or Colston in the late rounds again...Seems to me it would be worth it

Whatever Coach thinks is a good idea. I refuse to second guess the man.

Umm...not for a draft pick. And not with Stecker. Lord help us if Duece or Bush gets hurt.

If we were a baseball team, I'd say go for it. But I think we should stand pat, at least w/ the starting units. Don't want to throw off the chemistry we have now and bring someone new into the fold. But given this FO's fondess for trades this year, I wouldn't be suprised to see another trade or two go down. Probably nothing major though.

solid backup DE. that is all i can see we need right away. somrething a sixth rounder can get.
Stecker is to good as a back up with his salary to trade. We have enough backup CB on the the team right now, Look for a big tichket free agant at CB or LB next year. It is hard to say right now but the LB's are looking good. they are really gelling together. but there are alot of one year deals at the position. Lance Briggs, Chicago at WLB. Nate Clements, Buffalo at #1 CB. Right now are atop of my defensive wish list as FA. |

Don't get carried away with Branch. I saw him up-close in TC ad he is slow. We need Steckerfor insurance in case Deuce or Reggie get hurt.
I think our most pressing need is on the OL at center and guard. Evans is a rookie and will improve with time. But Faine and Nesbit can be upgraded. I like how smart the LBs are playing. if we can get a smart LB that is also fast int he offseason, great. I really like Fujita though. I'd like to see us sign him to a long term contract. |

instead of trading someone. pick up philip buchanon whom the texans released today. he could back up in the secondary and if injuries occured then he could fill in.

I was surprised we didn't look at Troy Vincent at safety since Harper got hurt.
