Bears, Earth... Earth, Bears

If there ever was a game when a team beat itself, it was last night's game between the Bears and the Cardinals. Here's what we learned from last night's game:

The Bears aren't perfect - heard that, Xan :) ? - They can be forced to make mistakes on offense and can be beaten soundly.

"Tobias, you silly biatch. The Bears won the game"

No, the Bears did not win the game. It was given to them by a BAD Arizona coaching staff and by Rackers Vanderjagt ed .

Bad coaching staff because, by the end of the second quarter, it was so clear that the Arizona coaching staff all of the sudden realized "hey, we can actually win this mo-fo", and all of the sudden it was 2 runs up the gut then short/screen pass. They actually got scared of the idea that the could beat the mighty Bears, and went away from the passing game that was working pretty well for them. It was obvious that they were not going to run the ball against the Bears from the first series, so why go run-run-short pass? No one thinks you are going to win. You somehow are winning. Go for it! Seize the moment. You are not going to run the ball on first down against the Bears on their 30 yard line.
Dennis Green threw a little tantrum during his post game conference, cute and all, but instead he should be looking long and hard at the offensive play calling and his coaching.

On the bright side for the Cards, Matt Leinart is going to be a player. They have some talent in that team. But they do need to get rid of Dennis Green.

How does this relate to the Saints?\
... well, it was as if I was watching the 2001-2005 Saints, wearing red uniforms.
BUT, the 2006 Saints, these Saints finish that game.

Well I saw the game last night and all I can say the Bears have to be happy about their future games and how easy it is because any middle to good team just found out how to beat the BEARS spread the field out and pass them to death 5 yards here 10 yards their and control the clock the cards were just plain dumb in go away from their game plan in the second half. If you get ahead of the bears their offence Can't Come Back. So the future is bright for playoff teams who play the bear thank the cards for a game plan that will beat them in the future............

There is no perfect, unbeatable team in the NFL. They all have issues that can be exploited. While I feel sorry for the Cards who clearly beat the Bears up and down, they are like all the teams whose attitudes are "hope" to win instead of expect to win.

This Saints team is getting to the point where it expects to win. That's what puts them in the same category of the Bears. We may not match up man for man, but where the Saints have strengths, the Bears have weaknesses, and, unfortunately, vice versa. I don't think that the Bears are a great team, yet they are, however technically, the best in the NFL right now. However, I do think that the Saints could take them, even on the road.

I am just happy that happen to the cardinals instead of us. The close games they been through and lost at the end especially w/ the lost last night, will make it a very long & hard season. They going to have to check their character and come together but they going to get some relief with the Raiders next on their list.

My feelings exactly Tobias. The Cards went away from the short passing game which was working for them. Leinart was on fire and his receivers were catching everything. They did the same thing last week, up 14-0 vs Cheifs. They got a 2 TD lead, then they get ultra-conservative, kind of like the Saints did back in the Ditka days, but maybe worse. Rushing Edge 36 times for 57 yards??? You simply cannot grind away at the Bears defense with the run, they are so stout with Urlacher and the DL. I don't blame the kicker on this one either - they had more time to get the ball closer on FG attempts but settled for long FG attempts.

It's seems like Dennis Green is regressing. He seemed so level-headed, bright, calm and patient with his team in Minnesota, keeping his players positive and looking for the silver lining. Now he's turning into a loose cannon, first lashing out at Leinart in the preseason and now the tirade about the 3rd preseason game and the Bears being who he thought they were. Why not applaud your QB and your defense which played lights out football the whole night? He's burning out and he's gonna lose that team, if it's not too late already. Probably time for an interim head coach in Arizona.
